What if Cowboys Lose Sunday?

Many fans and Pundits are taking the Cowboys being the 2 seed as a given.
I'm fairly confident they will win but what if they were to lose?
It would be the most cataclysmic moment for this franchise in recent history.
I can't imagine how irate the fanbase would be and if you thought the Cowboy haters in sports media were insufferable before, multiply that by a Billion!
McCarthy would have to be fired, Dak's reputation would suffer immensely and the franchise would be a laughing stock.
It all depends on how they we're to lose. If we had some very odd/flukey late turnovers in the kicking game that killed us, that is different than getting beaten on the LOS on both sides of the ball. If Wash beats us throughout the game, lookout come Monday morning.

[McCarthy] almost lost his job last year. And he came into this season as a lame duck coach.
In what universe outside the wild speculation of Get Up and First Take did that occur?

(And the use of the term "lame duck" in connection with the current coach of the Dallas Cowboys is entirely inapt.)

His team went 12-5 and won a playoff game, an improvement from the prior 12-5 season. MM has never been on any "hot seat" in Dallas.

A lot of shoulds
My guess it will be business as usual after the apologies and we have to do better comments.

Upsets happen all the time in the NFL. The whole team could get food poisoning from the pre-game dinner and all be playing with "the runs" all day. If Wash comes out playing like their hair is on fire and the Cowboys don't match that energy I will be concerned. But if both teams come out and battle and a few bad breaks here and there lead to a loss I won't care. We've already seen that they can go on the road and spank an NFC South team. It's what happens the week following that I'd be concerned about.

This is absolutely false. Nice try

1. Just isn’t true. He almost lost his job last year. And he came into this season as a lame duck coach. He’s done a great job getting off the hot seat, to a certain extent. There is still time for him to destroy all the good that he’s accomplished this season. And a loss on Sunday would absolutely do that. Not to mention a quick playoff exit would also do the same
Why are some fans always so negative about everthing.

It would be the worst thing that could happen to Washington and their fans.

I don't play the "what if game". I play the I can't wait to watch the game, then win or lose, it can be discussed.
How can you watch the game when you’re too busy crapping on the team in the game threads?

If they lose, the people saying we should rest players, or that this game is not a must win, will be the loudest critics of McCarthy, Dak and probably several other coaches and players.

For me, I think the Commanders will come out swinging, looking to hang a loss on Dallas. They will play hard for their coach who is probably coaching his last game. They will play hard for themselves because they know there is a house cleaning coming up next year. Ownership may want a loss to secure a higher draft pick and maybe snag one of the top QBs, but I don't think the players care about that stuff.

If they lose I cannot imagine what this team will feel like going into the playoffs, on the road, and maybe on another grass field.

I never post in the game threads. So now who is the fool? You...now shut the hell up. Go use your favorite word on someone else.

I can assure you no one is getting fired with a playoff game the following week. A firing will only happen if we go one and done.

Sounds like you want the Cowboys to lose just to see the boards and media reaction.
