What if Romo wants to compete for the starting job next year?

We know who the better QB is going forward, which is why we stayed with Dak and had Romo relinquish the job.
We do? Bc the best three passes on the season last year were all romos.

I like dak but the guy is limited. We all love the 13-3 record but it could've been 16-0 for all we know. We could've kept that GB game close early. It's certainly within reason and not worth laughing at romos injuries just to avoid the possibility that romo is Better

Just read a report that says Romo wants to face the Cowboys next season...not surprising at all if anyone knows the competitor Romo is...

I think they backed into that. The cause/reasoning is backwards.
Click bait, it looks better though.
Some of the teams he would like to play for--Arizona, Denver, and maybe Kansas City--just happen to be on Dallas' schedule. He wouldn't choose them because of that though...that'd be a bit insane.

On the other hand, he's seen that defense for years now, so I'm sure he feels sure he could completely obliterate it.:muttley:

"We completely support Dak as our starting quarterback, unequivocally.
So, that's that. There's no issue there at all."

Seriously?

What's listed below the quote? I mean, besides the link to the article that references the quote.

Heck, the article has a date.

My brain's exploding right now.

I'm seriously starting to wonder what it is going to take for some folks to move on.
I have a different question. Why do some people, who have OR haven't moved on (not you of course), constantly dismiss every single thing Romo, Jones, etc. have previously said about the matter? It's like some people are waiting for all the parties involved to stop, look into a camera, wink, and say SIKE!

DFWJC, I would be surprised if the sources Jason Cole mentioned are not correct in Romo wanting to play against Dallas next season. I think anyone that is a competitor would want to stick it to the person that dumped them.

Now, how they tried to deduce what teams that could be, used backwards reasoning as you pointed out. But I do think the premise he wants to face Dallas is probably true...it's coming from his Agents most likely and possibly things Romo has mentioned off the record.

 It's so true. I don't think we'll ever have an answer to that, though.

Oh, I agree.
I'm sure if he plays elsewhere he'd absolutely love to play vs Dallas....though it'd be weird.

But they were going way out into crazyland by saying he'd actually choose the team he went to based on that. Big difference.
If the fit and situation where better at a team that didn't play one of their 16 games vs Dallas, I'm sure he'd take that.

In all likelihood, if that was what he wanted to do, the Cowboys would probably be completely willing...if he would agree to a substantial cut in salary. Otherwise, it's likely he is cut or traded. While the chances of him winning an open competition are pretty good, the Cowboys do have to factor in the salary cap.

The best three passes on the season were by Romo last season, how do you come up with that? lol It's obvious you don't like Dak by that comment and saying he's limited. We couldn't have kept the Green Bay game close early because our defense gave up 3 first possession TD's and we had a bad call on a penalty that helped kill one of our early drives. Dak's 2016 season was comparable to Romo's career year in 2014 and Dak's 4 INT's was the fewest of any starting Cowboys QB in team history. It was 5 fewer than Romo's career low. We won a franchise record 11 straight games and tied a franchise record for 13 wins and could have broke that record if Dak played more than a quarter vs Philly in the season finale and didn't mail the damn game in.

Romo had 10 years to get us over the hump and the team has moved on from him. It's threads and comments like this which is one reason Romo will be traded or released. We can't go into next season with Romo's name coming up every time Dak doesn't have a perfect game, it creates a distraction! Dak and Romo will not be able to coexist because neither will be happy as a backup. Dak finished the 2016 season with 13 wins and a 104.9 passer rating that earned him a Pro Bowl birth and some still want to go back to where we've already been with Romo. Our QB isn't the problem, it's our defense.

Doubt that would happen MBIV but wouldn't be shocked if Romo tries to recruit TWill, Leary and Escobar wherever he lands. He will likely lobby for those guys if the team he is playing for has needs at those positions.
Definitey Leary if that is a team need. The Cowboys probably sign TWill before he hit FA.
