I am looking forward to tomorrow as well, .. but I am also looking forward to a "rare" football weekend overall.

Thurs - Cowboys on Thanksgiving (nuff said)

Fri - WVU plays Pitt in the "Backyard Brawl" - throw out the records, this one is always a dogfight.

Sat - Our local high school, my alma mater, of which I have been the PA announcer for 16 or so seasons, plays in the semi-finals of the AAA state playoffs, against the defending State Champions, ... #3 -vs- #2

I can't wait !! 3 huge games in 3 days,(actually 3 games in 48 hours) ... and my 3 favorite teams. High school, college, pro.

This is my favorite time of year. I love the football. For our family this has always been the big gathering, even over Christmas, so I enjoy that. Just a great, great time, and I'm very thankful.

Btw, I hope your team wins that High School game. Man, that should be a HUGE day!

Where was this thread when our O was scoring 30 points a game? Nice timing, rcaldw. ;)

Just kidding!

I'd love to know how much Jerry really does behind the scenes. I still think most of the ideas he talks about in public, like Ogletree playing more, come from the coaches and not vice-versa. He wants the credit but I don't think he really comes up with these things on his own. Same as in the draft.

But I do agree that his #1 priority is getting attention and credit. Too many media people have talked about it for it not to be true. And while he does want to win, I'm starting to think the real reason he does is because he makes more money that way.

You know me Lab, I pick my spots ;)

I agree with you on the money side of things for sure. For all that Jerry may or may not be, he is about as smart a money man as you could possibly find.

Sounds like you have a clear cut plan for tomorrow and the weekend.

For me it is going to start early tomorrow. I plan on being on the road at 6 in the morning heading to Dallas. Have Thanksgiving Day dinner at Embasy suite where I'm staying then off to the game. Really excited to see the new stadium, all that is left is for the Cowboys to go out there and take care of business.

Congrats on going to the game! I think they will take care of business and give you a great day.

How can they take care of business if they have something wrong that won't be fixed?

:), you obviously didn't read the whole thread. I don't blame you, it's really long.

I think a better thread title would have been, "Win or lose, you can't please everybody and realistically many live to see the Dallas Cowboys fail."

Then why comment Hos? If you don't agree, just leave it alone.

I commented on what I perceive to be a contradiction. What is wrong can't be fixed and taking care of business don't exactly jive.

Good enough :) I've had enough fight in this thread, time will tell whether I'm right or wrong. I'd be happy to be wrong. Just want our team to win another Super Bowl. Who knows maybe we'll do it this year and Jerry can jerk the trophy away from Wade like he did gunsmoke :) That would be fun to watch.

Jerry is not a real GM, plain and simple. There is no one in the NFL who would hire him just as a personnel guy. Other than himself, of course.

As much as you THINK he is not a GM, you in no way shape or form have any idea whatsoever what other clubs think. No matter how many times you can parrot the same old line over and over again.

What we do know is:

1) Multiple GREAT head coaches, Holmgren, Parcells, Fisher, Gruden and Shanahan, all have stated publicly they respect Jones as a football guy. Gruden has been everything but subtle about his desire to work for Jerry Jones.

2) The NFL OWNERS have elected Jerry to be on the competition committee for over a decade. You know the committee where they decide the RULES OF THE GAME? Its not exactly marketing 101 like people like yourself would have us think he is qualified for.

3) Player after player has stated publicly that money being equal there is no other place in the world that they would rather play than in Dallas. We've seen guys like Ware, Rat and Columbo take deals under market value to stay in Dallas.

You? Have you ever even seen an NFL scouting report written by an actual NFL scout?

Ok, if you want to believe Jerry is a "football guy" while Jimmy Johnson and Bill Parcells, men who actually worked for Jerry, laugh at the idea, then go ahead.

Doesn't bug me at all. You have a right to believe whatever you want. Believe it.

By the way.... would having looked at an NFL scouting report shut you up? If I answer that with yes, would that end the discussion for you?
