What is your floor for MM returning

I remember when a HC was fired after back to back SB victories.
It's not that simple. Jimmy Johnson had a history of changing jobs every 5 years. He just couldn't stay put in any one place for very long. In his book, he attributed that tendency to a vagabond quality that is innate within him. As much as Jerry wanted Jimmy to leave, Jimmy was ready to leave. (tired of Jerry) So it was a mutual decision.

so the question is what I want to happen, not what I think is going to happen. because what is going to happen is MM is staying, due to the regular season success.

but for me, if I were Jerry, if they can't get two playoff wins, I sniff into the Payton deal to see what it would cost and what his plan would be moving forward with staff.

If we lose in the wild card, I would expect him to be fired.

If we win the wild card and lose in the divisional Rd, I think he's safe and should be.

I read the book and I'm aware of what they want us to believe.
Bottom line is, my comment is still correct and I was merely
wise cracking in response to a comment.
The only firing that tops canning a coach who went 14-2 would be
to fire one who won a SB. Well, helmet hair won two and, despite
what was said, was fired. Had Jerry not been pissed, Jimmy
would've stayed at least one more year.

So what you want to believe is more relevant than what "they want us to believe"?

That is pretty much the take, esp. following Jimmy's candid interview with (ESPN, FOX/Bradshaw???). Jimmy swears he needed a "change of scenery" and, "was time for me to leave". and left with a wad of cash.
I guess we could litigate this parting forever, but Jerruh got his new coach and Jimmy moved on, found his mojo again.

He’s not going anywhere. Besides, who wants KM or DQ as HC? Not me.
No way SP comes here to work under the heavy thumb of JJ.

I never understand why people say that Payton would never come here he is very close to the Jones family.

I believe what makes the most sense.
For example, Amari Cooper and the Kirk Cousins comment.
I believe he said it while amongst teammates. It was leaked
and then denied. So, who made it up if he didn't say it?
What makes the most sense is he did say it.

Jimmy was sitting at a table celebrating. He wasn't thinking
of leaving at the time.

You rolling your eyes is an example of you blindly believing
anything you're told. Better to be a critical thinker than a sheep.
That's baaaad!

I truly think Big Mike has already earned another year as of today. But that opinion could change based on how we exit the playoffs. If we’re unprepared and get smoked or there are obvious coaching gaffes and/or crime management errors then I’d seriously consider parting ways.

I think MM has been a good coach for the Cowboys. He should get another year no matter what happens in the playoffs.

I'll buy a round for the entire forum if McCarthy doesn't finish his contract here.

Top shelf.

Fire Kellen , bring back MM .

thats my take .

Let see what MM can do with a legit OC.

Honestly.........I can def see this happening. Truth is, we've been in the same offensive system 10+ years. Romo spent almost his entire career in the same system......can a different scheme/ system take Dak's game to another level? Remember MM spent most of his career prior to Dallas in the west coast scheme.

I'm not sold on MM and think he should be gone if he doesn't reach the NFC Championship Game. However, I don't want to give the New Orleans Saints ANY draft picks for Sean Payton.

So, if the options are Payton for draft picks and keeping McCarthy, keep McCarthy and let's see what he can do with another strong draft.
