He's the thing with Dak. We're stuck with his contract, so we're stuck with him.
I also understand that finding starting quarterbacks is hard, but if we don't start, we definitely won't find one.
Dak is going to be Dak. Inconsistent. He's going into his eighth season.
He's not going to change. That means unless we are stacked at every position on offense, he's not going to take us to the football Promise Land.
And that's unacceptable for a Cowboys quarterback.
As painful as it might be, we need to start searching for his replacement.
But Jerry won't, so we're looking at maybe five more years with him while we waste the talent we have.
It's frustrating because this was the year to go to the Super Bowl. Don't blow two double-digit leads starting the fourth quarter, and we have homefield advantage throughout the playoffs.

If we are stuck with Prescott, and we are then hire Dan Mullen to run the offense. Quinn to HBC and let Moore and MM go. Mullen is the only OC he has ever had that knew how to max his strengths and stay away from his weaknesses. I see no other path.

I am not raining on your post, but what is going to change Dak’s propensity to throw interceptions? It’s not like ANY OC is going to say hey Dak, please stare down your receiver and throw an int.
Since this is the first year he's thrown as many interceptions, I'm giving him the benefit of doubt. It's why I said maybe a new OC and/or new system next season. For whatever reason, he just does not see the field as you would expect ......especially considering he's been in this offensive system for several years'. Take a look at this..........clear touchdown to Hilton

HE can't see the field and he's got a double digit IQ. Got to find a way to get rid of him one way or another. He's had all the chances I'm willing to give him.
I don't believe we're stuck. Contracts can be changed. Otherrwise he can ride the pine and bring in 1st rounder even if it costs us.

Who do you want the Cowboys to get rid of during the off-season?

I tried to include any players I think several members might choose, but if there are players you want off the team not listed, post them in your replies.

If I see enough people posting the same player(s) that are not listed, I will try to add them to the poll.

You can vote for up to 5 players in this poll!
lol sigh

Why sigh? It's not like fans have any control so if they want same players back or do not want some players back, it will have no bearing on what the Cowboys actually do.
I just realized its officially the off-season.

I called that last night after the play. He never looked to anyone other than lamb and Schultz. HS kid makes that throw.

get on the phone and do a deal with Tampa. Kyle Trask if wasting away on the bench waiting for Brady to finally decide he is done. Put together a deal that sends Zeke and Gallup with some draft picks to Tampa for Trask and maybe some lower down pick.

- As much as i liked zeke, as much as i thought he was Adrien Peterson 2.0 during his first two years in NFL
..now this version is just so very slow that its painful to watch.

And it's not just losing the homerun ability.. but he has very average (maybe below average) burst in-out of holes, and outside edges. he's even average as a receiver.
he's such a plodding lumberer at this point. Only value is goal line/short yrd specialist.

- Even if it would be a " reduced" pay cut - we still would be very lacking at playmaker backup RB - that's how much he has woefully declined.
and now we see what would happen if Pollard gets hurt - and we have to rely on Zeke. .

- And pollard is not the type (nor should he be made differently) to be asked to be a load carry bell cow. Touches are more important than carries, imo. .
But Tony needs a legit and reliable playmaker.as his backup.

- Scrubs players like Joseph and Barr are irrelevant.
- kicker Maher was having a great season ..until Wash game and into playoffs; major camp competition need added.

I’d move on from Zeke but it’s not a simple thing and would require making room to eat his money but save huge money the couple years after
I’d extend pollard and double his targets in the passing game while drafting a replacement for Zeke. Not a high pick but RB’s all over the league came from middle rounds

I don’t think he’s regressed quickly at all. You could see this coming 3, 4 years ago, the gradual decline.
And they really did nothing to prepare us and haven't for years. The reality that Elliott isn't prolific and Pollard is only a change of pace RB, has never kicked with them.
I blame the coaching more than anything.
If you're playing a good playoff team that runs and stops the run, and after getting embarrassed last year you would think that would be a bigger priority.
We didn't even see Davis and they didn't run play-action until the 3rd quarter.
