Here we go again. Like I said prior to this Matt Moore and Drew Stanton are only a few that are available and much better than an hit and miss College Qb. Kap, Manziel and Rg3 so I know what I am looking it.

I like Kap. I would give him a chance and take a run at him. The other two I dont like.

Since the Cowboys have numerous draft picks this year, I would like to see them pick two QB's in this year draft just like Washington did in 2012 when they picked RGIII and Kirk Cousins.
That will completely depend on how they address the position before the draft. If they don't, I could easily see us drafting 2.

Ever since Dallas missed on him in the draft. Jerry and JFF have been planning how to ruin his stay in CLE so he could come to Dallas. I can't believe ya'll didn't know this.

The future QB of the Cowboys could end up being a 3rd round pick or another undrafted free agent that's how unpredictable the QB position is.

How come nobody ever mentions Colin Kaepernick?

IF we try to sign vet QB as a backup, that's exactly who I would go after (depending on the price). I would certainly take him over Maziel or RGIII. He has actually taken a team to the Super Bowl and has played very well before. I have no idea what happened to him, but at least he has done it and he's still young.

It is indeed. However, Roger Staubach and Danny White were the only two Cowboy quarterbacks to start an NFC championship game and not be a 1st round pick.

There is absolutely no doubt that Staubach would have been drafted #1 overall without his military commitment.

Meredith, Morton Aikman...1st round.

Of the 10 quarterbacks that have won multiple Super Bowls, 6 of them 1st round picks....and five of those drafted #1 overall.

A team can get very lucky or they can get very determined when it comes to a champion quarterback.

Do the Cowboys strike anyone as being lucky?

I think one thing that gets overlooked is most top QB draft picks are selected by teams that have very little talent around them and they themselves are not NFL ready but regardless are thrown to the wolves. At one point it was rare to see rookie QB thrown out there day 1 in the NFL. I think more teams would benefit by not throwing these guys out there day 1. I know Commanders did not do it on purpose but I think Cousins benefited by sitting

First off, he is not exactly on the same **** train either Griffn or Manziel appear to be on.

Manziel is a cancer and will never make it unless he gets his life on track shows up drunk for practice gets his coach fired can't depend on this kid needs rehab bad a real rehab should not play in the NFL until he can stay sober !

Off the top of my head I can only think of 5 QBs taken #1 overall Bradshaw, Elway, Aikman Peyton and Eli Manning that have won SB's. Very few QBs taken in the top 5 have won championships over the years. Very few Heisman winning QBs have had success in the NFL Staubach being one of the few. I haven't researched it but I don't believe most of the QBs that have won SB's were taken in the first round. Montana and Brady were taken in the 3rd and 6th round and have 8 SB wins between them. In 1974 the Cowboys drafted Danny White in the 3rd round and 3 years later in 77 they took Glenn Carano in the second round as the team prepared for life after Staubach. The last few years the team hasn't done enough to find a solid prospect to develop choosing to bring in several undrafted developmental projects that are extreme long shots. Since they struck gold with Romo they've been trying the same formula and the odds of striking gold twice with an undrafted free agent isn't very likely.

The Pats don't keep taking QBs in the 6th round because they struck gold with Brady in the 6th round. They've taken QBs in the 4th round and the 2nd round trying to increase their odds. There's been some great QBs taken late in the first round like Dan Marino and early in the 2nd round like Drew Brees. The biggest obstacle top college QBs face is most go to bad NFL teams and end up taking a beating and losing their confidence. They face adversity they never faced in college or high school and some can't handle it. QBs taken later in the draft don't face the same type of scrutiny and no one is expecting them to turn a franchise around. The expectations that come with being a top 5-10 QB taken in the draft is too much pressure to handle for some which is why I believe so many have gone bust.

Keep an eye on Wentz. If they coach the Senior Bowl, they are going to get a very good look at him
Actually they are coaching in the Senior Bowl so as you said they will have a ring side seat looking at all of the talent that will be on the field that week and the game.

Brandon Allen of Arkansas with one of our 6th's would be ideal. I think he could develop into a solid backup.

I agree, I like BA. That said if we can get him in the sixth I'm thinking that doesn't necessarily preclude us from also taking one early as well. Nothing wrong with more competition.

I think the year the Commanders took RG3 they also took Kirk Cousins. I have no problem with that strategy.

I honestly think they get Manziel then draft a project in the 4th or 5th round

This would be such a terrible route. Manziel is terrible and then you get some spare late round. Will be in the same situation we are in now. No real backup.

Warming up to Kevin Hogan in the 4th round. (If we pass on a QB in the first)

Could be a guy to develop for a year or two.

May not be an elite guy, but maybe good enough to be on a good team to go far in the playoffs.

Unless he can make his throwing motion a little more compact, I see Hogan having a lot of problems. He has the biggest windup I've seen since Randall Cunningham, without Cunningham's arm strength.
