Who is the future at QB?

There are two quarterbacks with top 10 ranking. It doesn't get a whole lot better than that. Do you want to have another big time losing season to get back in this position?

These two QB's on a normal draft year would be 3 to 4 rounders. Poor Qb class this year has pushed them up to the 1st round. Jerry is not wasting a first pick on a QB, he will address the QB position long before the draft. Check the list of FA Qb's this year there are some real good players much better than the 2 in the draft.

People are going way overboard on these QBs in a "normal year".

Was last year a normal year? When Garrett Grayson, Sean Mannion and Bryce Petty went in the 3rd-4th round?

Or was it the year before? When Logan Thomas and Tom Savage were selected in that area?

Maybe it was 2013 when Mike Glennon, Matt Barkley, Ryan Nassib, Tyler Wilson and Landry Jones were the QBs selected.

These are comparable prospects? Spare me.

Have you legitimately looked at it and you think this?

If so, I have no reservations saying that, sorry--you have no idea what you are looking at.

I agree, there is nothing available in FA that makes you go wow. I would look at Fitzpatrick as a back up and if Denver lets Brock walk, that will be interesting.

Good post. The only difference is that there may be no clear cut #1 but that happens in other drafts as well. You take the best QB on your board and barring a trade up we should have a shot at either Goff or Lynch. It also wouldn't surprise me if Carson Wentz doesn't shoot up draft boards after his workout or the combine. This is a QB hungry league.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Oh come on. Just look at Sam Bradford, Brock Osweiler and Kirk Cousins. They are a billion gazillion times better than Goff or Lynch and why wouldn't they just fall all over themselves to come to Dallas to be a backup to Tony Romo? I mean, who wouldn't? But wait, there's more. They will come cheaply and "at the right price".

I cannot wait!

I think people wanting the QB taken care of this offseason (Myself included) are going to be horribly disappointed.

I have resigned myself to the thought that Jerry is probably going to sign JF or RGIII and then they'll go elsewhere in the draft.

I just have a feeling that's what's going to happen.

I think there is a clear cut #1 and its Goff. I just don't think he is worth the 4th overall pick. Now, if we can get him, we should because we don't need him to start right away. But I think a team like Cleveland will take him and he will be lost out there for a couple of years and ruin him. He is not NFL ready. I would love to trade back and pick up a few more picks and get Wentz early in the second. But I have a feeling he will move up the mid to late first round after all is said and done.

The Cowboys have no excuse for missing out on those QBs if they covet both. They should be in contact with all three of those teams making sure they do not lose out on both via a team jumping up ahead of them. We're talking about a franchise QB. No price is too high for that player.

But I do not believe this will be the mindset. I think it'll be more, how do we help our "young player" Tony Romo on the field in 2016? Which is always a great way to approach the draft. With one season in mind. I can't see how that could possibly fail.

Well, yeah. That won't stop me from campaigning for the QB though.

Warming up to Kevin Hogan in the 4th round. (If we pass on a QB in the first)

Could be a guy to develop for a year or two.

May not be an elite guy, but maybe good enough to be on a good team to go far in the playoffs.

Oh I could definitely see us taking a flyer on a QB after the 1st round, especially if we sign some "name" FA QB. I can hear Jerry spinning it now and it'll be hailed as a great move. I can't hardly wait for the highlight videos and film breakdown if/when that happens.

My bad. I meant clear cut #1 overall QB pick. It'll be interesting how Lynch and Goff (and even Wentz) play out after their workouts.

Oh yeah I can see that.

You gotta make sure you have something else to hold onto and complain about afterwards. :)

But yeah I just have a feeling that's what's coming for the people here. Everyone wants the future of the QB (or at least they should) and we're probably going to wind up stuck with JF and wishing we'd drafted someone instead.

On the bright side of that dark subject in that situation the people who are really wanting Bosa might actually get him.

I was on board to get a qb but honestly these guys are not that great. Goff I can live with sitting on the bench, same with Wentz. But Lynch is garbage. ..draft best player available.

Here we go again. Like I said prior to this Matt Moore and Drew Stanton are only a few that are available and much better than an hit and miss College Qb. Kap, Manziel and Rg3 so I know what I am looking it.

Hogan is just as good as the other 2 clowns everyone is dying to draft. He has played better opponents and won bigger games. And is smart and has experience in a pro style offense.
