Who Was Romo Talking About With Galloway?...

Actually, there have been several reports that he has problems locating the ball over his shoulder...not a good thing for a wide receiver. He's been making big catches in space, but there have also been reports that he's had difficulty catching in traffic.

The point is, he still has things he needs to work on...as expected.

I knew I read that somewhere

I just remembered that the reports make him look like the guy who can make the spectacular catch, but not always make the catch, sort of like Bernard Berrian, while he'll make some spectacular catches, he'll drop a few too

Oh boy, here comes big bad Seven acting all tough again. I swear, you are like that guy who buys a Camaro because he's deficient downstairs.

I have a Yugo. :D

He's talking about a player who didn't do all that much last year coming up big for the team. STAND OUT. You've got to make a major contribution to stand out. You've got to come up HUGE to do so. So you understand, I'll say it again. Anyone who thinks Stanback or Amondela is going to STAND OUT this year is on crack. We should be happy if either get to 10 catches and can be on the active roster every game.

Only one WR of that group is going to get the chance to see many balls and that is whoever come up as the #3. We threw a ton last year and our #3 WR for most of the year, Hurd was targeted only 37 times. Our #4, Austin was targeted only 10 times. The only player who is going to have an opportunity to get the ball is whoever emerges as #3 and there is no way Stanback or Amendola come out as #3.

Blah, blah-blah, blah......................spin, spin-spin, spin.

AbeBeta;2181129 said:
I don't really think Hurd stood out -- in fact, at one point it seemed that Austin had taken his #3 reps. I believe there were several discussions on the board about that.

There's your problem. That'll be 150.00 for the therapy.

AbeBeta;2181133 said:
I really don't think anyone can reasonably EXPECT Hurd (24 career catches) or Austin (5 career catches) to step it up.

Most teams would view a guy with those sort of career experiences over two years who stepped up as a huge and unexpected bonus.

Blah, blah-blah, blah......................spin, spin-spin, spin.

Backpeddle, backpeddle...................

That makes even me dizzy. Whoa!.

AbeBeta;2181147 said:
Unreasonable that one will step up, no. But saying that Romo couldn't have been talking about either one because everyone EXPECTS them to step it up is silly.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you The Great Embellishing Spin-Master, Apebita. Let's give him a round of applause.

You really should stop wrestling with little boys. You're getting a big head.

Backpedal? It is called clarifying. Ya see, when someone comes in and tells you what you were trying to say and completely misrepresents it, you need to come back and set them straight.

But please continue to tell me exactly what my post meant -- really it is funny coming from someone who fails to understand even the most basic comments and who ignores basic facts about player's performances.

That's the best you got? I was very clear about what my post meant -- the only one spinning here is you.

But you are right, I should stop wrestling with little boys like you. Throwing you all over the ring is hardly a challenge.

i think it would be Danny Amendola....i really like the kid coming out to camp cause i think he will make te team and contribute....im on the band wagon.....he will be a COWBOY book it...

I have lost all hope of a poll making sense of this thread. That, and the tired head...

Maybe it is everyone or maybe no one.....maybe they are just messing with everyone's minds. To get this type of response from people. To keep it exciting.
Remember what Tony Romo said about Terry Glenn.....something like....I thinnk everyone will be surprised what TG will do this year, he will be fine....or something to that effect.

OOhhhh. NOW it's clarifying. Gotcha.

What do spin mean?

:lmao2: "Set them straight"................Mom, that you? You don't stand a chance, flapjack.

I am waiting for you to do that.

I can't get a straight friggin' answer from ya! Only backpeddle and a very lame attempt at semantic spinning, at this point.

Yawn...........I'm tired of spinning. Wake me when you're done.

The only thing you're throwing all over the ring is bucket after bucket of bull****. Handspun.

Please, please keep posting. I need the laughter on this very day.

He's talking about Terry Glenn being resigned.

I kid, I kid :D

How am I backpedaling -- my belief remains that it is either Hurd or Austin -- none of those other guys are going to come up HUGE, separate from the pack, or do whatever the hell you want to call it

You've got your straight answer four different ways now. Hurd or Austin. Period. End of story. Exactly as I said at first and exactly what I'm saying now.

Yep, that's about the level of discourse I expect from someone whose screen name celebrates his Wonderlic score.

My guess is that he's on about Hurd as his extra weight is going to be a real help.

Here's where it started and my comment followed. Now what, bellow boy?

You're so far off due to you're backpeddling, you can't keep up.

"Championship".....................

...here is the excerpt from Randy Galloway's article yesterday on Romo...

Lack of proven depth at receiver.

Romo: "I read that and I think you guys have that all wrong. There will be some things happen at receiver this season you guys are not expecting. These young receivers will emerge. Several of them, in fact.

(Does one of them stand out?) Yes, and I will tell you his name, but don’t print it. Just watch and see if I’m right."

So who is Romo talking about?

I actually don't think he's talking about Hurd, Austin or the other wide receivers. I think he might be talking about Felix Jones. We've been reading a lot about him in the slot and how well he is catching the ball.

Agree? Disagree?

i seriously doubt he was referring to a runningback.

How is that backpedaling? Hurd or Austin is the one he was talking about -- neither Amendola or Stanback is going to make a huge contribution, separate from the pack, or do whatever the hell you want to call it.

But please keep throwing out ridiculous backpedal claims -- it just helps to show that you really did have to work to get up to SEVEN.
