Free agency is nothing but "scraps" to begin with.We are going to add from scraps left over? Awesome.

When you have time I'll have to teach you about this thing called the "NFL Draft".
OK a short synopsis because you're always "Mr. Positive" on here...
In the NFL Draft the Dallas Cowboys will get to acquire more players! And some of those guys are defensive players!
Isn't that some crazy **** or what?
That was Lovie's D. Dallas does not play what Chicago was playing.
We getting Myles Garrett at 28?
You have much more faith in this front office than I do.As I recall their 3rd round pick and their 6th round pick from the 2016 draft did pretty well.
In addition their 2nd rounder and 4th rounders could be contributors this season.
I'm not. There is a difference between Lovie picking the talent and Rod calling plays, and Rod picking the talent and calling plays. Lovie had Urlacher and Briggs, Dallas has nothing close to that. In this scheme, it is all about the MLB.Then you are contradicting yourself. You spoke about what Rod did in Chicago. Can't have it both ways.
Rod was defensive coordinator in Chicago. Certainly he and Lovie shared philosophies and agreed on scheme.
Rod needs to tell Jerry to get him some talent on the Dline. It would be crazy to waste Daks career like we wasted Romos. The last pass rusher we had was DWare. Let that sink in.
Yeah, Marinelli just doesn't understand football like you do.
Tell that to the Patriots...
What free agents did they pick up? Either way Pats are doing what they do because they are the Pats and have the best quarterback and head coach.
All coaches want better talent. Better talent means a better team and more wins and a lot less work for the Coaches. Marinelli certainly wants the best talent the FO can provide. His greatest problem is the Cowboy FO has always been , during the Jones era, offensively motivated.
If they got Poe I would cream my shorts.
Agreed. I didn't know you could sign a FART....well if they were going to go cheap, then keeping the offense together was rational.
which is what they did, other than knowingly let the best FA RTs sign without getting a replacement for Free.
i think they drank too much of their own coolaid.
they could have signed various FA RTs like Remmers for less 1st year cap impact than Free's 2017 salary.
and they knew much more cap was available in 2017.
hope whatever they do does not get Dak hurt.
Why is Rod getting blamed here? I'm sure he would love to have like 3-4 war Daddies on defense. That would only make him look better right? Why would he insist on getting a bunch of scrubs all the time.
Kinda like asking for a bunch of interns on your team at the office.
Drafting in recent years has been a very pleasant surprise. Not the weak link any longer. As I recall their 3rd round pick and their 6th round pick from the 2016 draft did pretty well.
In addition their 2nd rounder and 4th rounders could be contributors this season.
