Why has the offense gone so far down hill?

Dak accounted for 3 points - thats it. I will be surprised if the offense makes any noticeable improvement at all.

But you can bet that if the total points goes up at all there is going to be all kinds of credit given to Dak regardless of what generated the points, level of competition, etc.. Maybe the debate has gotten the fan base to a point they can evaluate how well the QB is playing regardless of other factors.

Dak's rookie year the team was successful because it ran the football and limited mistakes by not asking Dak to toss it 40 times. Dak is never going to be Mahomes regardless of what you pay him or how much you want to think he can do it. Never going to happen. Instead use Dak the way they are using Cooper Rush - run the ball, control the clock and take the shots the defense gives.

cooper gone, gallup out until recently, those other two backup wr's from last year were good, schultz barely playing, ol problems, Zeke is about 40th in the league in ypc, fewer short fields from turnovers and back up qb

You underrated Amari, and what a true WR1 brings to an offense. Also, stats said they were a number 1 offense, but it didn't feel that way. I don't think they scared anybody is what I mean...too finesse.

I guess, I'm old school and I like this run you over, ground n pound offense I'm seeing. It's not downhill imo, it's just different.

Rush isn't turning it over...that's the big thing.

We were actually a very inconsistent and up and down offense all last year.

There were games the offense lit it up and then there were games it fizzled and sputtered.

We're on a 4 game winning streak based on solid defense and mistake-free offensive football. Pre-snap penalties have been kept to a minimum during this win streak. Cooper hasn't turned it over. In 4 gams I think there's been one offensive fumble.

I think a big difference, our defense is helping Rush hang in, some may not agree but Dak is allot better than Rush.

Yes they were good at beating up the little kids on the school yard. And some little kids even had one arm tied behind their backs (NO putting up third stringers, Egirls resting their first row etc). From midseason on it was a mess and this continued into the Tampa game this year.

So I'd rather have a quiet thinking offense with the focus on the run game than the "oh Dak will do something" crap we played last year. Because that never worked when the big guys came to the table.

With this being said, I really like our offense. The o line gets better n better, our RBs are picking up the pace. And guys like Noah can't replace Amari (duh) but they are a nice surprise. So imagine a fully healthy and mentally sharpened Dak at the helm. No stupid stat mongering stuff, just calm and steady offensive play.

With this defense all you have to do is game management and if Dak can do this and excell in clutch situations (game winning drives) then we're close to unbeatable. Cooper has given us (at least me) that confidence back. Now Dak should build on that.

So the one and only question will be: will we get the 2016 / first 6 Games of 2021 Dak back, or the regressing worn out version of himself we have seen in his last 12 games?

I think it all depends on scheme. Will we play the same type of offense we are now. I hope so, with a handful of designed runs, roll outs and play action added to keep ‘em guessing.
