Why in the heck would we spend a 4th on a player that won't even make the team?

I still want to know who said the pick was a "wasted" one.
If you say VA, i sure can find no proof.

take your time.

who ever said wasted?

the thread started out with dallas saying stanback was the odd man out.

hos said that was premature.

i agreed.

va said i probably still thought carter was a good pick

it went downhill from there cause VA doesn't know what he's talking about but he loves to tell people what they say/think'/feel and then get all smug about it.

Just my opinion....I will try to explain....

I had Petiti as a ? mark....because I dont know what he is doing now....sure he played 16 games for us....yet the next yr is couldnt even be a backup...the only reason he played...was because we sucked and had no one else...sorry.

I gave credit to those players.....solid is a compliment...

Newman IMHO is a probowler...has played like one...just hasnt been voted in...stanley is just a backup that we cut serveral times I think....IMHO a waste...will not contribute much. IMHO

I didnt have a opinion on FA or undrafted players....His predecessors never had that luxury of having unlimited money to pick up FA....I do like the undrafted FA's picked up....credit goes to the scouting dept....Bill is usually gone by then and had very little input IMHO

I called fasano a solid 2nd TE ....which he is....will get alot of snaps but he will always be Wittens backup here in dallas......

So parcells is to blame for rogers and peterman but the scouts are credited with signing the undrafted free agents. Ok, whatever you say. You think it was a coincindence parcells kept bringing in tight ends and linebackers from other teams? THat is what he does and who he is.

If you think he had nothing to do with fowler, shanle etc your wrong.

I hope the scouts can continue that trend and find us guys each year from the undrafted pool and other teams practice squads.

I never said anything about free agents by the way.

a translator to what you're referring to now would be nice.

the only point you see is gimmetheball is right in that *i* did say someone said it was a wasted pick. i didn't reference who but i did say it - so my bad on that one.

other than that i have no idea what you're talking about - as usual.

The part in bold, that you conveniently left out when you quoted me above, is you putting words in other people's mouths. You asked for an example, and this is just one, from this thread alone.

Of course, it's rather predictable that instead of owning up to it, you play being clueless.... At least I'm assuming you're playing.

See? That is all I wanted.

There is a BIG DIFFERENCE between "wasted" and "questionable" and your stance figured largely on that distinction. Affirmation from you that you put words in others' moufs.

OK, my work here is done.
Happiness rules in the Valley.
And you are contrite. Beaten but not bowed, Slushy.

For what it is worth, I agreed largely with your premise (whatever that was; it seems so long ago)

OK, all is forgiven, Slushy.
You remain our all-time favorite (online) tough guy.
God bless you and I hope that experiment in your basement doesn't mean the neighborhood will have to be evacuated by hazmat.:)

i "went too far" *after* VA tried to tell me i liked the carter pick - of which i never did. by the time *i* put words into someone elses mouth the whole conversation had gotten bloated beyond reason but at least my words were simular to what was said initially - not pulled out of my arse from left field and an entirely different stance placed upon someone.

Stanback is the odd man out! Still not healthy and deep in rank Stanback better hope some luck is on his side. Owens,Glenn,Crayton,Hurd, then Austin,Rector, urban. The return should be Austin and Thompson. What gives?

word i agree with you man

Note the second word in my post.... "PROBABLY".

You've now set the record straight and have stated you didn't like the Quincy pick.

But with that being the case, it's interesting how it's okay for you to not like certain draft picks, yet you go on a tantrum if someone else dare even questions a pick...like say that of Stanback.

hmm.

for example - here's VA's "oops" - i had to set the record straight on crap HE put in my mouth and i never said - but no "oops, i was wrong for doing that". he pulled quincy outta his arse, he said i liked him and he ran off at the mouth about it and was wrong the whole time. why do *i* have to set the record straight on crap he makes up???

ANYWAY - i don't mind admitting when i'm wrong, just wish others would show the same courtesy.

funny how VA gets all quiet when it's his turn at "confession". but it's ok, whatever ends this thread the fastest at this point.

VA! Why I oughtta . . .

Slushy, I will have a heart to heart with VA. By the time I finish with him he will feel as beaten (but not bowed) as you feel right now.

I'm gonna go now and look for him . . . .
Git over here and make a mea culpa, VA!

VA! VA!:lmao2:
