Yeah and injury prone. This dude is another bust in the NFL.He's a damn good runner, boys and girls. Damn good. And well built.

That gives him a great chance to learn on the sideline and in the moment. Hopefully we never see him on the field this year but I think the trade was a smart, low risk moveHe'll get to go to games, though, as the emergency QB under the new rules where he doesn't count against the game-day roster. Could only come into the game, though, if the top two QBs are injured.
Yeah probably 2024....dude had 2nd ankle surgery in DevSpeculation on my part, but seems to me we should look for Lance to get some short yardage duty with regularity.
And too, I think this probably makes certain that McKeon makes the team, and will line-up with some regularity as a backfield blocker.
When Dak stopped using his legs/feet to make plays in his first few seasons is when his game broke down. OK.... I know he got hurt. give it a rest and cool your jets before the obvious comments attacking my posts. IMO this is a dam good move. Anyone that has watched the way he plays in the playoffs would agree that he will not take this team to the SB even with a star studded defense giving his propensity of just throwing the ball to the opponent at the exact time that would kill the win. Friking GUT PUNCH X infinity. We really don't know here in the forum and as fans that maybe coaching was more part of the problem or not. Your on notice right now Mr. gotta have 40 mil a year. Totally putting DC in hostage mode regarding building a great team.....Thanks. Yes again I'm aware that we missed the damn window in his first few years with the red headed beast clapper as HC. In the end we want to not only play in the SB but win the dam thing right? that's what the hell I want. Goy Boys......Good move IMO. ok haters attack. You know damn well I'm right here. Time to move on from this. You all have been saying this too so don't come at me like someone took your puppy dog. Peace!
You're not making any sense.Lol, no! Not without significant injury to DaK and Rush and only till they can get Grier back in!
The Jones are an inscrutable bunch. This is a Jerry/Stephen trade. I don’t think the coaches had anything to do with this. This about Dak leverage. The Joneses don’t want to give Dak a second big contract. I guarantee it will come out soon that the Cowboys offered Dak an extension but he refused it. Dak’s days are numbered.
He needs lots of reps.Speculation on my part, but seems to me we should look for Lance to get some short yardage duty with regularity.

I do think I wouldn't mind seeing him in short-yardage as the tush-push QB. No reason to risk Dak to the scrum. The only problem with that, of course, is Lance would have to be the active backup and Rush the emergency QB who couldn't come in unless both QBs are hurt. That gives him a great chance to learn on the sideline and in the moment. Assuming both Dak and Rush were finished for the season. He might get snaps in one game or until they can resign Grier. In other words Lance is nothing more than a reclamation project taking up a roster spot for this season. You're not making any sense.
Maybe late in the season that could be a possibility but he doesn’t know the system and camp is nearly over. He could be a weapon in those type of plays but we have to see if he can handle the backup position firstI do think I wouldn't mind seeing him in short-yardage as the tush-push QB. I don't necessarily have a big problem with that, though. Lance would just have to play in that game before Rush starts any games Prescott would miss with injury. It's not like anyone thinks that Rush is a great backup anyway, just one who can keep the bus on the road while the defense steers.
It would just be a few plays ... unless of course something happened to Dak. I just like the idea of carrying a player who could run that sneak play instead of risking your starting QB. I had toyed with the idea of Luepke doing it, but it doesn't look like he'll even make the 53. The advantage of Lance doing it is that it gives you someone who can run and pass.Maybe late in the season that could be a possibility but he doesn’t know the system and camp is nearly over. This is a guy who’s thrown barely 100 nfl passes and completed barely over half of them
He’s gonna have to show he can Atleast keep the wheels on first
I like the trade and the gamble is worth the risk but I don’t see him being ready anytime soon if at all this season. This was a bet on what he can be, not what he is today

There are plenty of non-threads to post Dak Prescott-related comments. Dak Prescott comments in the gameday thread will be deleted. That may also hold true for Trey Lance comments.
I understand your confusion. Allow me to clarify.Confused by this comment, all due respect. Thread was not started during the game.
At some point that might be an option but right now he couldn’t run the offense so he has to learn that first and you have to see him in practice enough to be confident he’s at least a capable backup if something happenedIt would just be a few plays ... unless of course something happened to Dak.
