yah, but you are talking about a SB caliber team. This is a team barely capable of the playoffs. Filling a hole for one year isn't going to amount to anything of consequence.

Once you make the playoffs, you ARE a Super Bowl-caliber team. Welcome to NFL fandom! Enjoy!

Have you looked around the league? The Cowboys are just as capable as anyone.

If we get over this mental hump thats clouded us for years then we might make some post season noise this season.

What are you talking about? This team is ready to dominate. We just need one slightly over the hill guard and look out. It is all going according to plan. It is our year.

Until they upset all their opponents and then you look back and say.....they were obviously a lot better than we thought, Yada Yada Yada.

and you do? BS. Washington last year. Are you deluded enough to think they could have won it all?

Were you deluded enough to think that Baltimore could have won it all? Oh wait...

What about those Giants a few years back, with their injured riddled secondary, going up against the mighty #1 seeded Cowboys, who beat them down two times in the regular season? And then having to go up against the undefeated Patriots, are you kidding? Oh wait...

Go ahead and tell me you knew the 2007 or 2011 Giants were a Super Bowl contender. The 2011 Giants went 9-7 and were outscored by their opponents in the regular season. The 2007 Giants were swept by the Cowboys and beaten by Green Bay and New England in the regular season, then beat all 3 of those teams in the playoffs en route to winning it all.

Or tell me you knew the 2008 Cardinals were a Super Bowl contender. They went 9-7 and lost 4 of their last 6 regular season games, including a 47-7 beat-down in Week 16 at New England.

Or how about those 2005 Steelers? They were the 6th seed in the AFC and Roethlisberger was in his 2nd year. You totally had them as a legit contender, right?

But no, this time you CLEARLY knew the 2012 Commanders had no chance. Even though they nearly beat Seattle who nearly beat Atlanta who nearly beat San Francisco who nearly beat Baltimore. Oh, and Baltimore was a 4-seed with a 10-6 record, just like the Commanders. Thanks for the laughs!

I agree that they are uncomfortable with the idea of Arkin starting right now. However, I think that having Leary start on the other side plays into this quite a bit. I have to think that they are VERY uncomfortable with the idea of starting both OGs and a C with zero real NFL experience. A vet to bridge the gap for one year would help that a great deal.

Great point and I agree.

I think the youth at both center an LG is a big factor in wanting a veteran at RG.

Along with the fact hat they don't / can't trust Arkin or Bernardeau.

But I think it will take more than the $2 million they offered Moore to get Waters.

It matters. I'm not going to let it be a serious factor in deciding whether or not I'm going to give up my blood, sweat, tears for a multimillion dollar contract. For me, at least, it'd be such a secondary consideration (way behind playing for a contender, too) that, if it's coming into play, it makes me question how much weight he's placing on the factors that I think are much more important indicators of his commitment and desire at this point in his career.

Brandon Moore just did precisely that.

The A gap was our single most vulnerable gap last year, excluding the 9 if you count Free. Now that may have been a result of Cook, but for 3 years now I have felt that people have been going after that gap way too much in the passing game. We have GOT to get it under control.

I agree that there's some concern there but is Brian Waters really any better than what we have on the roster? I really can't see a head and shoulders improvement with this guy.

I would not mind getting Waters but frist thing I would want to know from him is How bad do you want to play? If this is just about getting 2 or 3 million then no thanks. If I was with the Cowboys organization I want to know from Waters do you really want to play for the Cowboys.

I am not sold on Arkin just yet...I want the best OL that they can get...this team\, with health, could do deep into the playoffs...so, shore up the OL as much as possible...I am bummed about Moore not getting on the plane, I thought he would solidify the OL as a bookend around Fred (with Leary on the other side)...

I also agree that they are dancin' with the oldies because Livings must be more injured than we know

think this has alot to do with it, having a vet at rg would not only help the rooks but also Free
