they way Jerry already said that he is the guy is very bad for negotiations, so basically Dak is going to get paid like a franchise qb. Thank Jerry's poker face for that.

He's going to get paid what he's worth.

Why in the world are people in a rush to pay him.

It is just stupid. You got a player who can't go anywhere for a steal for next year and you still have questions about him.

Make him prove it!

Who said they were in a rush?

Well if you are talking about paying him now then you are in a rush. If you talk about extending him you are in a rush.

He has a year left, after next year, he's a free agent, you can wait. Or IF he goes deep in the playoffs, you better get him signed at the end of this year, or you could be looking at a Cousin's issue.

This x1000. Going purely by what should matter and not stat heroes.

Eli = 2 SB rings
Romo = 2 playoff wins, 0 SB rings
Dak = 0 playoff wins

Eli > Romo > Dak

Until Dak wins more than 2 playoff wins and/or SB this is the pecking order. Who cares about stats, passer rating, etc. All that matters is the W. Dak slobberers and haters should know this but little admit to it.
I'm not saying I agree with the concept, just that it seems to be the go-to argument for the most vehement of Dak fans. Personally, I don't like using stats, or anything that's directly affected by outside influences to measure a QB's talent.

well losing is what you get with Dak. Romo showed in 30 seconds on his last drive on this team , why he was the man. You need to justify ur ad hominen attack on Romo to justify his being a clown, otherwise ur statement is just an arbitrary fallacious statement. invalid.

Romo is the unquestioned king. His 4 rings are proof.

I was hoping this year the Cowboys would definitively know if Dak could be the franchise QB but I think it's going to take another year,,,, having the OL blow up on them didn't help at all.

Didn’t that leave a scar? Well lucky for us the Cowboys are the richest team in the league. No need to have a hammer as our only tool. Develop Dak with better coaching and DO NOT pay him before he earns it. Play chicken with him the the Ravens did with Flacco we literally have nothing to lose.
It faded away after a few months. No signs of it.

Who do you pay, where do you find a qb? You ready for the qb carousel? Your going to pay market value for a qb, no matter who you bring in.

If that's the case, might as well pay market value for a guy who doesn't have serious accuracy, footwork, and field vision issues

But hey, if you want to pay $30 mil a year for the devil you know, have at it

I'm paying market value for a winner.

Only 9 QBs have more time to throw than Dak, yet only 1 (rather than 21) has been sacked more often.

So either no one is open (doubtful), he can't find them (possible), or he's reluctant to pull the trigger (most likely).

https://nextgenstats.nfl.com/stats/passing#average-time-to-throw

Time until he throws more like it. And since the pocket breaks down often he is often running for his life.

Do you honestly think that time to throw means "time to throw in a clean pocket"?

The better QBs don't wait for receivers to get open. That's part of his problem.

Most QB's have a better system, better Oline, OC, better pass catchers, more time with the receiver.

In fact, when Dak had a better Oline ONLY, how well did he do? As a rookie?

Considering the injuries , they are lucky to be 31st. Three starters, including Frederick who is the backbone of the oline, are out and they have a starting LT with a bad back which is causing him to play subpar football. Dak does very little to help these guys with protection and the number of sacks and hits reflect it.

He is definitely not good enough yet at pocket awareness. So how important is a good oline to him?

He's dropping back because he has to, teams are making it a point to keep him in the pocket, at some point he'll have to throw from the pocket anyways to be successful.

We're gonna pay big bucks to a QB who can't throw and has more flaws than forged Dollar bill ......lol...oh Jerry you have out done yourself ..this will be a bigger goofball move then when you let Jimmy walk....:omg:
