Wouldn't it be great if our 'backups', k.o. the 'Skins' playoff hopes?

OK let's break this gem of a post down.
No argument here.

Next time I'm gonna make you go pick out the switch with which you want me to beat you with.

Has your team ever played with 5 guys out because of injury? That's exactly what we did last week, and we beat minnesota. Against the Giants, we did the same thing(McIntosh got hurt early on in the game). Have you ever won a game this year with 5 starters not playing? The point is that we've been playing with backups for the last few weeks, yet we've been winning. We beat Minnesota when:
1. Sean Taylor wasn't playing.
2. Carlos Roges wasn't playing
3. Randy Thomas wasn't playing
4. Jon Jansen wasn't playing
5. Rocy McIntosh wasn't playing.
6. Mike Sellers went down due to concussion

(I'm not counting Jason Campbell, Brandon Lloyd).

The point is that we should not be winning our games with so many injuries. Yet, we are. You lost TO last week, and you couldn't even score one touchdown after he ent down.

Your injuries have not been crippling, because all those injured players didn't go down AT ONCE like ours have.

We won our first two games this season without Greg Ellis, Terrence Newman, Jason Ferguson and Terry Glenn. Have you been paying attention at all?

Don't tell me you want to quibble over one extra starter.

I'm pretty sure (although I could be wrong) the score was 7-0 Dallas when TO was injured.

This may not apply to you, so take it or leave it. But I think what we'd like, is if other team's fans stick around. If you're just gonna show up for a week before the game, annoy the hell out of everyone and then bail after you lose or your team sucks - then don't bother signing up. If you're gonna be a member - be a member. Don't be an annoying troll two weeks a year and then never show your face again.
The fact is there just isn't all that much to talk about when we're not playing each other.

Miami: Ferguson, Glenn, Newman, Ellis, Hoyte put out during the game.
Rams: Same as above, but Hoyte out. Ellis played some but didn't start and was very limited.

(Oops, Punk beat me to it. You can count the Giants like he did, too.)

You're not the only team that's had some injuries. You just cry about it the most.

what I find funny is that the Skins barely beat the Jets, pretty healthy, while we smoked them, same w/ Miami, and Philly our 1st game against them

sounds like excuse-making to me

After this week, the Skins' starters will have missed 64 games due to injury. That is four a week every week. (I had a post listing all of the injuries and then closed the darn tab it was in, and I don't plan on doing all that work again, but it was 64 exactly).

Oh good. We're changing the argument now. I love it when people begin spinning arguments when they've been smacked down.

Now that you mention it, we beat Carolina last week when:
1) Terry Glenn wasn't playing.
2) Jason Ferguson wasn't playing.
3) Roy Williams wasn't playing.
4) Andre Gurode wasn't playing.
5) Terrell Owens went down in the first half due to an ankle injury.

Looks like 5 to me, unless I miscounted.

The point is that we should not be winning our games with so many injuries. Yet, we are.
You could say the same thing about us. And we've won 5 more games than you have.
You lost TO last week, and you couldn't even score one touchdown after he ent down.
And random statement of the year award goes to...

Your injuries have not been crippling, because all those injured players didn't go down AT ONCE like ours have.
Do you mean that despite our injuries we have done well? I agree. There's that depth thing again. And yes, we have had big names miss playing time all at once. I've already debunked that poorly devised theory.

Next.

And I've already posted that we've had 62 games missed, and that's not counting the games where Henry, TNew and Ellis played but didn't start.

And let's not forget that this weekend, we'll most likely have three Pro Bowlers not playing at all (Gurode, Newman, Owens), not to mention the ones we might sit during the game (Romo, Witten, Flozell).

Meanwhile, the Skins will be missing one, right?

I move to rename this thread "peplaw's never-ending *****-slap thread"

Seriously Skins fans - you've had a rough year with Taylor's death in particular. He was a key defensive starter. But it's time to stop pretending that you've overcome insurmountable odds. Carlos Rodgers is a piece of garbage, and was playing as such this year. Campbell wasn't helping anyone win any games. Your biggest losses have come across the offensive line.

Stop pretending that you're the only team in the league dealing with that, and it's some amazing accomplishment for you to be one game over .500. It's already been shown that Dallas starters have missed just as many games as Washington. We're freaking 13-2. The Colts have lost almost every member of their offensive line at some point, Dwight Freeney, Marvin Harrison and Dallas Clark - Dallas and Indy have lost BETTER players for LONGER periods of time, and still managed to be elite.

It's tough bouncing back from something like Taylor's death. But stop pretending your injury situation is unparalleled. It's not. It just seems that way because your management is so incompetent.

Actually, against Minnesota, Mike Sellers went down early on in the game. So basically, we played without 6 starters. So, that's two more than your 4. I'm not including players like Brandon Lloyd and Jason Campbell. Our injury sitation is much worse if you include ALL players. Against Minnesota we were actually without:
1. Jason Campbell
2. Brandon Lloyd
3. Mike Espy(Wide Receiver)
4. Jon Jansen
5. Randy Thomas
6. Rocky McIntosh
7. Carlos Rogers
8. Sean Taylor
9. Pucillo
10. Mike Sellers who got injured because of concussion.

I have missed a lot of other players.

You only have two players on injured reserve:ferguson and deon anderson. We have 9. Add to that Sean Taylor.
How exactly is your injury situation the same as ours?

P.S. If Carlos Rogers is bad, then so is Terrence Newman. Rogers can't make interceptions, but he is a great cover corner. One person who I would compare Rogers to is Newman: can't make interceptions, but is a great cover corner. Remember, we were giving up 13 points a game before the New England game.

great point, for one game they couldn't even dress 49 players

Basically, I can't believe what I'm reading.

Even a monkey could score 40 points playing QB against the Giants awful defense, right bud? The Dolphins defense is a real litmus test? Mike Espy and Jimmy Farris and invisible Brandon Lloyd matter?

PS - Rodgers is garbage. Even your fellow fans know this. Watch the games.

I'm not even sure why we are bothering talking to a guy who doesn't know who our LBs or RT are but thinks he is qualified to evaluate the Commanders injury situation in comparison to the rest of the NFL.

Boredom, I suppose. Noone came into work this week.
