They always return, particularly at that age. Punk knows the game. Eventually they'll offer him outrageous money to return for a year or so on a limited schedule. He'll take it because the money is too good to pass up. He's just done with working a full-time schedule and for now wants a break. He would be stupid to keep working a full schedule

But Vince and him have to agree to a contract first.
 
Do they pay guys that are out like Bryan?

And let me get this straight. This Punk guy is married to one of the girl wrestlers so the thinking is if they are on good terms with her that may work getting him to return. Is that the thought?

All these "superstars" have contracts so yes they get paid if they get hurt. By the way did you catch Michael Cole on Raw say Wade Barrett would be out for "months" with his new injury?

CM Punk just married AJ Lee (who returned on Monday and beat Paige for the championship) so there are a lot of people (fans) who think that connection will help lure him back to the WWE. To be honest I'll bet Vince is hoping it works also.
 
I heard them say that Barrett would need surgery & then saw they were having some kind of match to pass on his belt.

I don't watch the girls so I don't know who AJ is. Hope that guy comes back.

Must be fun for him watching the wife work her butt off while he sits back & watches. Maybe he hates that Vince guy? Or his family?
 
You never know...with CM Punk I mean. What if this is the same kind of deal as happened with Barry Sanders?

And, ha, I just watched RAW on time delay last night. Had no idea AJ returned and beat Paige. That pretty much ends rumors of her being pregnant, methinks. And I had the number of days wrong for her record title run recently - she mentioned it was 295 days.

If so that's the best thing that could happen to the WWE.

But I'm not going to hold my breath. Punk has been very very very good with his money during his career, from everything I've seen and read about him, so he's not going to do it because he needs money. He would only do it because he loves wrestling so much and because the WWE finally realised that he isn't going to stand around and be wasted all the time.

Punk could give them some HUGE pay days with feuds with guys like Reigns, Rollins, Ambrose, Daniels, Wyatt, etc. They could have some big time main event stuff going on if you put CM Punk squarely in that picture with these guys. He'll make them all even better and it would be entertaining as hell.

WWE contracts are usually saddled with low guaranteed money and stockpiled with bonuses. The NXT guys often don't make more than $25K a year.

The contracts are a bit better now because they are based more on royalties and it is more organized as to how much royalties the performer gets. Every quarter or so they will give the performer a book that tells them how much of their likeness was sold thru various sales channels and their cut of the money.

So for somebody like Punk, he can still make money without being on TV, but it's going to be significantly less that he would be making if he was on TV. It's almost night and day difference.

He's a guy that paid a lot of money out in his career. He paid off Joey Mercury's mortgage. He had his own Tour Van with his own driver. And he has a multi-million dollar mortgage in Chicago.

Ok I know Stephanie's husband cannot be young & he still wrestles. He looks mid 40's to me.

Maybe punk will get bored & come back. How old is he?
 
HHH is in his 40's so yeah he's older than Punk.

Punk is 35 like that says above but he's been wrestling since he was like 18 or 19 years old so he's been doing it for a very very long time.
 
If I were to just guess that Punk's guy age without you guys telling me I would say 45.

He looks older than 35.

Maybe he'll come back. Money always talk with a loud voice. I'm curious now.
 
I just watched the RAW from last night. It wasn't very good. I do like Jericho.

They had Bray doing nothing really.

I just thought overall it was sort of boring!
