That's pretty slick. First he says:
So he attempts to establish the basis of a "fact." The supposed "fact" is the sport aligns glory and blame to wins and losses. However, his next step is to corroborate the "fact" by including a quoted source, which states:
Yet, nowhere does the quoted source state glory and blame is equivalent to wins and losses.

KJJ has such a way with words that I would guess he might be a lawyer but that assertion would be insulting to the profession, I think.

Great post

The Cowboys win the Super Bowl and everyone will say Romo is one of the greats. :omg:

When they win this one he's going to go to 'first ballot hall of famer' instantly. And the media will tout his outstanding career numbers, and say he didn't have the team around him until this season. Then they'll make assertions that 'some' in the media had called him a choker, but it will never be the person speaking who said that, it will always be attributed to some nameless 'they.'

I dislike talking football with those people. They don't get it.

If you dislike talking football with people who don't get it you're wasting your time on FAN boards because most don't get it they're too biased to get it. I've seen everyone from Brent Musburger to Al Michaels to former NFL GM's, coaches and players get ripped by FANS because they don't get it and refuse to get it if it doesn't favor the Cowboys. FANS think they know it all when it comes to the NFL and the Cowboys. They think they know more about the rules than Dean Blandino and know more about running the league than Roger Goodell. I've lost track of how many threads that have been started calling out those who played, coached and GM'd the game because some FAN didn't agree with them. It gets so ridiculous here that a couple of weeks ago I posted the Wiki link that I posted here in another thread and a few bashed the source claiming it's wrong and so am I. The first sentence in that Wiki link is 100% correct and I challenge anyone to provide a link/source that disputes it...GOOD LUCK! NFL Network had a segment 2 years ago with Kurt Warner asking if it's fair that QB's are credited with a W/L record. It takes an incredibly uneducated FAN base not to know that QB's are credited with a W/L record.

FANS laugh in the face of facts and scoff at the experts exposing their lack of NFL knowledge. I would estimate only 10 to 15% who post on FAN boards really know what they're talking about because they do research and remove all bias from their posts working with facts while the rest are just biased armchair FANS/cheerleaders who base everything on their bias for the Cowboys. You have FANS here who are so blinded by their homerism they claimed that the ball never touched the ground on Dez' catch vs Green bay despite undisputable video evidence that it did touch the ground. LOL That's just an example of what you have to deal with on FAN boards.

Not him...it will be because Romo finally has a good TEAM.

Romo hasn't ever been on a good team?

What about the 2007 team that went 13-3 and had a NFL record 13 Pro-bowl players?

That was a pretty good team, unfortunately, a team that flubbed the playoffs.

I am mostly in the pro-Romo camp, however, one thing I can't stand is revisionist history.

You lumped me in with a group of people I don't agree with. I most definitely don't think a team wins or loses solely on the play of its QB that's ridiculous! You're one of those who either can't comprehend or have an agenda. Anyone who follows football knows the QB receives a lot of the glory for wins and some of the blame for losses which is why the NFL credits QB's with a W/L record.

How about providing a link proving that the NFL OFFICALLY RECOGNIZES this stat?

You do understand that ANYBODY can post ANYTHING on wikipedia, right?

I do understand that ANYBODY can post ANYTHING on Wikipedia and relying on any source for accurate information is a risk but I know what's been posted in the first sentence is FACTUAL because I've seen it discussed on ESPN with several NFL experts and on NFL Network with Kurt Warner. It's a FACT that QB's in the NFL are credited with a W/L record as are head coaches because both have a great influence on the outcome of games. Trent Dilfer and Steve Young talked about it comparing it to pitchers in baseball being credited with wins and losses.

I'm a slave to what's available on the internet just like everyone else and posted the only source I can find that backs my position. At least I provided something other than an opinion. If you think the source is incorrect then provide a source that disputes it. It's ridiculous to question or attack a source that's been used on this board for years without providing a source that disputes it. I've had a number of sources from USA Today and ESPN scoffed at by those that hate being proven wrong. They're so ridiculous they'll claim the article has it all wrong. Some here will dispute any source even the most credible if it proves them wrong. There's no way around some of the facts that are thrown in the face of the uneducated but the Jr High crowd would rather toss insults than own up to anything. It's almost like they're on a mission to lose credibility and embarrass themselves.

Ben was wildly inconsistent, but since he put up like 2 500 yard games he played lights out...
For starters, this was comparing him to Eli.

Next...2 huge games out of 16 won't get you anywhere near what he ended up with in all categories....he literally was right up there after the likes of Rodgers and Romo.

Maybe you should look more closely on this one, atj.

Yep, not a real stat, it's a fake phony stat for fake, phony fans. It does not have a logical definition (5 IP like baseball, in goal for game winning goal like hockey). It is nowhere to be found in the official NFL record book or on NFL.com. I don't have a problem with it as a general concept, like "The Cowboys were 12-3 when Tony Romo played last year", but it doesn't really have any place in a serious discussion. It's purely media created, in its never-ending quest to turn football into a wrestling match at midfield between the two QBs.
