You wanted youth in the secondary?

There is a pretty big wide area between spending a ton on big name FAs and then hitting the bargain bin thinking you can sign bad players and make them into quality players that fix glaring holes on this team.

Why is that you guys often struggle with this concept? You always just act like it's either spend way too much on top name FAs or sign junk bargain players?
Because you're going have a difficult time finding quality DEs and CBs on the FA market that are not going to cost a lot of money.

It's one game and you glorify in fearmongering. The rookies are young and developing. All I get from most of your posts is that you don't really understand what player development entails.

I understand player development. I also understand that a smart FO can supplement letting young players develop by bringing in competent vet players to fill some holes. The real issue here isn't the rookies, it's the fact that the front office figured guys like Heath and Carroll would be effective enough to let them develop.

So again, it's either spend a ton on say Bouye or sign trash like Carroll? There's no in between?

LOL.

Give what a rest? They had a failed plan to fix the secondary.

They weren't going to replace Garrett after a 13-3 season. But if this season becomes another non-playoff year, it's time for a change.

Wut? You mean you don't get your ROI immediately?

Do yourself a favor. Never seek private equity or invest.

You saying Heath had a bad game now? So really what this is about is your whinging about Carroll. Got it.

Have fun chasing windmills.

LOL.

What's your plan? You do a lot of complaining and claim that there was a better way yet we see nothing substantial.

Heath has shown enough improvement in his time in the league, to at least warrant a chance to start. Regardless of what you think of Carroll, there was a market for his services this past off season, with Carroll being a bridge starter until Awuzie, or Lewis is ready to take his place.

I've given my plan multiple times.

They handled the draft fine. They should have brought in a better veteran CB and brought in another SS to compete with Heath.

Secondary wasnt the problem last year. D line was. We did to the secondary what garrett did to the o line. Completely blew it up. Granted we did rebuild the o line. We wasted 3 years of romo in the process. Same could happen to dak until the secondary acclimates to the nfl game.

There was barely a market for Carroll.

The Eagles, who had a worse secondary than we did, didn't even entertain bringing him back because one, he couldn't play man and because then they played zone last year he was awful in it as well.

They actually thought Patrick Robinson was a better CB to bring in than bring Carroll back.

Chuckle at giving Carroll some leeway.

It's like we never learn. Oh yeah, he may have one game here or there where he's not lit up like a Christmas tree, but he's going to be a problem all year. I just hope that if he's out with a concussion, someone, anyone takes his job.

That would be Awuzie but he is out with a hammy. Maybe Lewis?

ROI. LOL.

Do yourself a favor. Never invest in a penny stock like Nolan Carroll, for example.

Likely has to be Lewis if Awuzie is out for awhile. I assume Brown is outside with Scandrick and Lewis is in the slot?

That is not a plan. That is a generalized idea. What player or group of players would fit that bill. And keep in mind that they cannot be so entrenched that they become progress stoppers.

Scandrick, Brown, Awuzie, and Lewis will be fine moving forward. It was the injuries to Scandrick and Awuzie that caused the problems.

I'm more concerned about Collins on defense.

Well, we went into the year with Vets starting at corner and at FS.

Both corners got injured, along with C.A. and Jones pulled a groin.
So, by default, the young guys are forced into action. Lewis went from being injured and missing most of TC to starting on the outside.

Heath isn't really a veteran on defense IMO, as he was more of a ST guy until recently.

You specifically made a post about youth in the secondary.

I like the LOL though, usually a solid indicator of a dodge.
