The owner hired the GM and won't fire him even though he's been horrible.Mediocre owner horrible GM
I’m not arguing his GM skills or lack thereof.
But whether you approve or not, the owner’s job is to ensure the team is profitable. That’s why they BUY them. The Dallas Cowboys are the MOST profitable sport organization on the PLANET!
If you don’t think that’s HOF worthy, I don’t know what is?
Thanks. I already essentially knew your answer based on past rhetoric and did not want to assume before getting confirmation BUT...Good owner bad GM.
...these three have re-sparked my interest. The '30% get it' comment officially eliminates the Bad Owner/Bad GM option. If possible, would you match the final three poll options to your abc determinations?Basically so far about 30% get it this era. The rest are (a) either trolling, (b) don’t get it or (c) more casual type fans.
I can't find your vote de.Thanks. I already essentially knew your answer based on past rhetoric and did not want to assume before getting confirmation BUT...

oops. damn. I forgot to vote. And I created the poll in the first place!I can't find your vote de.
He’s only doing the best he’s capable of.He's a good owner because he genuinely thinks he's doing the best things possible to build a good team.
He's a bad GM because he's wrong.
Jones lied in my opinion. It is a common narcissistic trait. He’s admitted he’d of fired someone with his record this era which is basically a confession his performance wasn’t acceptable.
I’ve been in business . You want to run it yourself even if you know there might be others who could deliver greater performance.Jones lied in my opinion. It is a common narcissistic trait.
I’m ok with this answer because at the end of the day the NFL is about making money. We’d all like to think it’s about winning football games and playing for championships but ultimately that’s only our ultimate goal not there’s.I'm in the last category because it really depends how you are defining "Owner". If you are strictly looking at Owner/GM from the perspective of building a championship caliber football team, I'm in the Bad/Bad camp. But if I evaluate his performance as an owner the same way I'd judge my own success as a business owner, it would be Good/Bad (Great/Bad actually).
This is an acceptable response. But from a fans perspective winning is the priority not making money. If we shared in the profits I think we’d all have checked off that box. With the amount of profit he turns with this team, I don't see how anyone could call him a bad owner.
He wins his Super Bowl every year
Right and why this generation he’s a bad owner and bad GM. 50% got it wrong on that one alone. Overall more than half don’t get it.
There have been, are and will always be people in business. However, all business people do not share one singular personality. Or motivated in saying and doing things as a matter of groupthink.I’ve been in business . You want to run it yourself even if you know there might be others who could deliver greater performance.
He’s basically saying he understands there could be more qualified out there but he doesn’t care. It’s his baby. We must accept whatever he delivers.
It’s why he’s such an eternal optimist out in front over hyping and promoting his product but then has to go into Damage Control when it doesn’t meet those expectations.
And he makes these public admittance to illustrate he understands or gets it but isn’t willing to change his quest and passion. Only offering up scapegoats and sacrificial lambs.
