All the guys you referenced except for Forte got a ton of snaps before their first "start." If you don't understand why that makes a difference, I can't help you.
The Ramsey is God crowd would need more than one short bus, because they can't all fit on one.

The guy who allowed 4 catches for 13 yds on Sunday - Ramsey.

Yes, Ramsey and Jack -- two prospects many have criticized the Cowboys for not taking -- have made a huge impact on that Jacksonville D, which is currently 25th in points allowed (they were 24th in 2015).

I'm sure Ramsey will be a fine CB, but I doubt he'll ever be much of a difference-maker -- heck, he only averaged one int a year in college.

McFadden could've done just as well last night.

Not impressed.

The production is really good.. It doesn't take a top 5 pick to get good production. We need special for that investment.
You would have a point if he wasn't a rookie in his third game. If he does not improve in a year or two, you will be right, but he is going to improve a lot.

McFadden does not BLOCK as well as Zeke. McFadden broke Romo's collarbone.

There is more to the game than 60 yr TD runs. Although McFadden didnt do that either.

Exactly. The Jaguars rank 25th with several 1st and 2nd round picks on defense plus they cut guys we are playing because we suck so much. Yet, they are STILL underperforming our defense! Why? Zeke and ball control. Gameova.

So we can only control the clock and have ball control with Zeke?

Jags were 27th in pass defense last year, 7th this year.

Cowboys were 9th in rushing offense last year, 6th this year.

Ramsey has had a bigger impact.

Still not worth the 4th pick IMO.

He's a fine player but I think there was more value in that pick than taking a RB when we had numerous holes on defense. Even a trade would have been a better move IMO.

That ship has sailed and all the complaining in the world isn't going to change the decision or the pick. There were an infinite number of decisions that we could have made with that pick, but the only one that mattered wax the one we actually made. The pick appears to be a solid pic so far. His floor looks pretty high so, barring injury, he looks like he will be a successful, productive player for us for a long time. Why not just enjoy what he brings to the table?

3rd down conversions say yes. Things most RBs, including those on our team not named Zeke, do not do well: block, convert 3rd downs, score TDs.

Check check and check.

Ramsey has had a bigger impact.
Jacksonville is 0-3 and they are giving up a ton of points. Ramsey has not established any level of play that opposing offenses are scheming to avoid Ramsey. He may be doing ok for a rookie CB but ok at this point is JAG.
Zeke has caused opposing teams to scheme to take away the run and this has opened up the passing game for Dak for look as efficient as he has. It's much easier to throw into a defense that is scheming to take away the run than one who doesn't have to.

Zeke has had a bigger impact on the game so far than Jalen Ramsey. Zeke has had a bigger impact on the game than any other RB in the league so far regardless of rookie or Vet.

I truely don't believe you really think Ramsey has had a bigger impact than Zeke. You seem to have more football intelligence than that. I think you are locked into an arguement and position and you would rather defend it than admit reality.

Truth be told, Ramsey will probably be good...but I'm not sure he would have beaten Mo or Carr at this point. He would more than likely be playing safety in spells or brought in as a nickel corner.

EE is 15 for 17 on short yardage......the only 2 misses were against CHI, one looked like a horrible spot and the other was the conversion overturned by a challenge

Teams are doing the same thing when Morris is in the game. Load the line. It doesn't matter who is playing TB, teams are trying to take the run away and make Prescott beat them thus far.

It's not like they see Elliott in the game and the MLB screams for 8 guys in the box, but then when Morris comes in, they only have 5 in the box (Yes, hyperbole). Teams are doing what they often do to rookie QBs................. make them show they can beat you with their arm.

This isn't a "go big or go home" dilemma; there's 6 other rounds (if you wanna disclude the 1st round for whatever reason) that can be used to nab an RB. You don't have to hold your breath waiting to hit the lotto with a undrafted rookie. David Johnson, from a podunk Nothern Iowa, is one of the league's best young backs and was taken in the 3rd round.

It isn't about "go big or go home", its about value for the draft pick you have and your ability to scout players. Its also about needing difference makers at skill positions and not marginal players.

Do you pass on Payton Manning at #4 because you can get a Cade McCown in the 3rd round? Do you pass on Emmitt Smith at 4 because you can get an Ahmad Bradshaw later on?

You keep listing guys like Bradshaw and Johnson but they aren't difference makers. And you might get a David Johnson in the third or you might get a Tashard Choice. For every guy you listed as a valuable RB, I can list five that were drafted in that round who were a bust or non-contributors.

And even then, your examples make my point for me. Ahmad Bradshaw has two 1000 yard seasons out of eight in the league. He has only started a third of the games he has played in. David Johnson is a guy you claim is "one of the best young backs in the league" and he had 581 yards rushing last year.

Would the 90's Cowboys have won Super Bowls without Emmitt if you plugged in Bradshaw or Johnson? Absolutely not.

or Tommie Agee the guy that started for Emmitt because he held out his rookie year and missed the entire pre-season.......it is like Elliott who only got 14 pre-season carries.......they both started slow and Emmitt only finished with 937 yards and 3.9 YPC for the entire season

Well QBs are a different story. It's the most important position on the team. So no, if you can get Peyton Manning at 4, you don't pass on him.

RB isn't as important as QB and the draft shows it's more likely to find a competent TB in the later rounds than it is a QB.

Would the 90s Cowboys have won Super Bowl with Emmitt and then Cade McNown at QB? Absolutely not.

Yeah, I can see how the extra 2 carries gave undrafted rookie free agent, Thomas Rawls, the advantage going into his three game stretch as a starter.

You're pure comedy, smh.

Uh no, you're trying to reframe the discussion and I'm not going to let you get off track.

The point is history has proven, more than any other single position, that you can get talent outside of the 1st round at the RB position.

You're also not factoring in the impact of our O-line. We all just watched a washed up former Top 5 pick in Darren McFadden rush for 1,000+ yards at a 4.6 YPC without even a mediocre QB to play with. I'd wager Ahmad Bradshaw in his prime could have done even better behind our line.

Are you seriously gonna bring up David Johnson's numbers last year and act like he was getting the starter's share of the load when he wasn't? Even despite that he ran for 580 yards, 4.6 YPC, 8 TDs + another 457 Yards receiving w/4 TDs AND 1 kick return TD (27.2 avg). This year he is the starter and he's playing well.

Here's a fun excercise, name all the RBs in the past 15 years taken in the Top 10 worth a damn.
