If you think about it.. running backs are SUPPOSED to get most of their runs against light boxes.. That's how offenses are designed to work.. Smart QBs audible to runs when they see a light box and to passes when they see heavy box. So it actually makes sense.. I doubt any back in the league actually runs against 8 man box more than 30-35% of the time. Unless they have a rookie QB or a stupid OC. Or both.. In retrospect the whole "they don't stack the box on most of his runs" argument is silly. They don't stack the box on most of anybody's runs..
Well, never really heard much about stacked boxes until Zeke came around and everyone claimed he always ran against stacked boxes. When people make those claims, I see if I can find data to back it up. In this case, NFL Next Gen Stats started tracking this back in 2016. The numbers are what they are and have consistently been low compared to fan’s perceptions.

You missed a very nice joke. Go look at what I quoted and what I wrote again.
Lol. Honestly, I didn’t even notice you posted it. I was in line at Discount Tire to get tires inflated for winter and just thought I was responding to Ronnie.

Why do you guys feed this troll? 17 pages...jess.
Practice practice practice.

And it's kind of entertaining to see what the troll comes up with.

Not to mention....we're giving him the attention he so desperately seeks....and that could matter

You must not have been around during the Emmitt days because it was a huge topic of discussion back then.. Frankly with an offense as diversified as ours it's actually kinda dumb to run into the 8 man box. You have to ask yourself which is more likely to be successful.. a run into a stacked box or Dak and our receivers against single coverage? It's almost a no brainer. It's part of the chess match.. If a team stacks the box.. we are good enough to throw them out of it.. and when they get out of it we are good enough to ram it down their throats.. I imagine most of Zeke's runs against the stacked boxes are short yardage situations. Otherwise give me Dak to Cooper or Lamb against some poor sap corner singled up all day every day.

One thing I notice is that a lot of the home runs come against stacked boxes. Once in the open field, there are fewer people you have to beat.

Zeke will enter the All Time top 50 NFL rushers yards wise next season, that takes over 8,000 yards, he will pass Freeman McNeil. Then spend the rest of his career moving up moving up moving up.

Zeke is only 1045 yards from 8000 so he has an outside chance to get there this season. A couple of big games on the ground could do the trick. If he pulls that off by the end of his 6th season we should hear a lot less of that "he was drafted too high talk." But we both know it will never go away completely.

McNeil has 8,074 yards, obviously Zeke needs 8,075 to pass him. Ya know it is possible he could make it this season, hate to say this because TEAM comes first but having Pollard isn't helping Zekes numbers.

I do doubt most know or care where he is on any all time lists other than us to be honest.

This running back thing, hmmmmm? I am looking at a list with nothing but great running backs on it, but no.....Ollie Matson, Frank Gifford, Paul Hornung, Marion Motley, Steve Van Buren, Hugh McElhenny, Terrell Davis, Floyd Little, Leroy Kelly, all in the Hall of Fame, now add Bo Jackson, Herschel Walker, Wilbert Montgomery, Willie Galimore, and another 1000 who deserve mention...point......soooooooooooooooooo many running backs, do you really need to spend a high draft pick to get one? Not that many great edge rushers or offensive tackles out there which are far more important than any running back, you don't have a tackle you won't have a QB very long.

Zeke is a stud, but so is a 1000 other cats, hell big Cookie Gilchrist terrorized the old AFL he's on no lists and most.....who?

Good point because if you look at a list of great players at any other positions there are barely any there.

The title of this thread would never indicate to anyone that the Cowboys just came off one of the most satisfying wins they’ve had all season and that Zeke made one of the biggest plays of the game. Some fans can’t even enjoy a win, they need something to complain about. There’s been games where Zeke deserves some criticism this wasn’t one of them.

Let's watch the Titans for the next 10 weeks and see if edge rushers and tackles are more important than any running back.. Play makers are always important.. you take them when you have the chance.. period.. No matter how great edge rushers and tackles are they don't score a lot of touchdowns.. and you can't win games if you can't do that. Besides the Cowboys already had two great tackles AND two pretty good edge rushers when they drafted Zeke..

I actually think that was Pollard who missed the block on the sack fumble by Rush.

It absolutely was.

Pollard is not quite the pass protector that Zeke is.

But he has been stellar in other areas.
