Kiffin unsure he can turn Cowboys around

And ,what about the players? Who is holding them accountable.

Ultimately the man who looks in the mirror for accountability.

I wish the media would go after Jason or Jerry like that to their face...pick on the old man coaching the defense, not the idiots that hired him...SMH

If we are going to refer to him as "the old man" then sadly or happily he should be fired as all coaches need accountability.

When you have a lack of talent on defense, you can help it with creative and innovative schemes. The biggest problem with the Tampa 2 is that it amplifies the weaknesses of a defense. There is nowhere to hide. Your guy has to beat the guy in front of him.

I see the sun setting on his career.

It should have set before he went to USC. After that fiasco and our record-breaking futility on defense this year, his reputation has taken a major hit, IMO. Yeah, yeah, I know -- it's a process and he needs time to get his type of players in here.

Dont worry Monty, only 3 more games and you can go back to the retirement home.

One favor..........give Garrett a ride to the airport on your way out............his services will no longer be needed after 3 more games either.

Wade Phillips couldn't turn this defense around what makes you guys so sure kiffin is not just doing what he can with what he has.. look at the players on the field for crying out loud..they suck!

Poor coaches:-\

Jerry making suggestions again.....so I anticipate a lot of blitzes Sunday. Jerry should just coach and get it out of his system....

Why?? With Jerry they'll just get deflected with nonsense and with Garrett they get deflected with words of nothing. Not that I don't admire Garrett's way of sidestepping the media.

Not to worry. Stephen Jones has that angle covered.

I hope he didn't finish off an already demoralized defense with his 2 cents. That one little statement could be worse for the team than everything Jerry has ever said combined. Its crap like that that makes players quit on coaches and makes coaches quit on owners.

Because they both DESERVE the disrespect, they are the ones that havent delivered, and they brought him in...this guy hasnt even been here a full calendar year, was led to believe 2 guys on the dline would be here that never played, wasnt allowed a defensive player of his choice with any of their premium draft picks, and is taking questions the reporters dont even have the balls to ask the other two. Im by no means pro-Kiffin at this point, but the other 2 deserve the tough questions EVERY time they step to a mic.

You have a point.

But that is how things roll in Dallas.

The real ones responsible rarely get the tough questions and rancor.

07:26 AM ET 12.12 | Defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin sounds like a man open to suggestions these days, particularly from boss Jerry Jones. Jones said the Cowboys need to "take more risks" blitzing to force more turnovers. "We want to blitz, and we did blitz on third down," Kiffin said. "Good golly, you've got to change it up. You've got to come after them. You can't let that quarterback stand back there all day." ... Kiffin fought off a blitz of his own Wednesday. The 73-year-old was asked if he's the right man to get the Cowboys' defensive woes solved. "I don't know. I'm here right now," Kiffin said. "I've got to be the right guy right now. I can't get into all that." Kiffin was then asked whether he's considered stepping aside and letting defensive line coach Rod Marinelli take over for him. "Not really. I don't think so."

Cool, that's what I want to drip down to the players. An attitude of total complacency. Loser breeds loser, get out of Dallas you geriatric fool.

I know a lot of you are projecting your frustrations and anger at Jerry, Kiffin, yada and I understand. These are the guys who are ultimately responsible. You cannot forecast this many injuries. There is no way to evaluate the defensive jobs this year IMO. And that effects the entire team. I can find fault with the depth but realistically there is no roster in the NFL that could survive all these injuries. You could make a case for not drafting players with injuries but that's nearly impossible to do.

It just sucks because it is what it is. And you can't call in sick. You have to put your product on the field and hope you don't get another Chi.

Someone asked if this was the worst defense in Cowboys history and I said I didn't know but the 89 defense was horrible. Well this one is probably worse. Maybe they can get enough guys on the field to although the O to offset the D. It would help to get some turnovers. The O has to have more opportunities.
