Then wash the elephants butt.
Okay, let me give this a try:

The Cowboys are the greatest team with the best coach and owner we could ever dream of. I am just so happy to have Jones and extremely happy is providing our superior head coach his expert training. All our FA signing are the best of any team and I have no doubt we will hit on all draft picks.

There, I pumped some sunshine, does that make you feel better??? It was hard to type!!!;)

How did this team win 8 games last year? I mean the worst Defense in team history all the injuries, how did they win 8 games? That they can play that bad and still win 8 games, If they improve only the defensive line between now and August and Romo comes back healthy and hungry that has to be worth a win or two.
The guys they signed are back ups that have some history in the league. last year our DL was coming off the street, and they still won 8 games. Two of our DL starters are not on the roster yet. Fix the DL and they go to the playoffs.
No need to panic, you won't know enough till around June 7 or so.

Wow, a sensible post in the Twilight Zone.

Did you realize you were posting on CZ?

Inb4 relocation to Rant Zone.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again. There's a difference between a young up and coming team that made it to 8-8 after years of losing records and an old team that's gone 8-8 three straight years and has issues with the cap.

I'd agree with this here in terms of the difference between 8-8 with the arrow up and 8-8 with the arrow down. That said, when you do it three years in a row, that's not the same thing as having a down arrow. That's a team stuck at winning only about 2/3rds of the games you'd want it to win (16-0 isn't a realistic standard, but 12-4 pretty much gets you competing in your conference championship with some regularity). When the thing that's been causing you to lose is consistent each of those years, it says more about your taken in some specific areas than it does about the direction of the team, overall.

I think this team is going to be ok. They just signed a backup linebacker. In all honesty. Every off season I used to hold out hope that the Cowboys found the answer. Now I'm at the point where I expect the worst. I have lost all faith in this team, gm and coach. I know it's early in the off season but the GM has yet to prove they're not a train wreck.

I can't ignore this team though. It's like watching a movie based on a real event. You know how it ends but somehow you just wish the ending would change to something better.

Ok, so Ware's 6 sacks and the loss of Hatcher will cost us 3 games?

It's not just that. I fully expect the NFC East to get better next season and for our schedule to be tougher. I know in theory the schedule should be the same since we're 8 and 8 once again, but I don't expect it to be. We'll have a D line that's not used to playing together. Romo is a year older and is coming off back surgery. He gets bashed, but if we had a lesser QB, we would be a lot worse.

IMO we have to be a better team just to make 8 and 8. I don't think we'll go 5 and 11. My prediction is 7 and 9. I would love for the team to do better and prove me wrong, of course. But a lot of things have to happen for this team to improve rather than decline. If we don't have a great draft, we don't improve. We get worse.

That's the problem, we can't get a new QB. We're married to Romo thanks to that idiotic contract. We're rebuilding with an aging QB who just entered the 1st year of a 100 million dollar contract and coming off multiple back surgeries. You don't give an old QB that kind of deal unless you're ready to win now.

We can pretty much get out from under the contract after 2015 if we absolutely need to. Having Romo on the team has zero impact on our ability to select his replacement.

I'm a realist...don't have any real hopes for this upcoming season. We lost our most disruptive forces on the defense and I'm sure Spencer is on his way out as well. I'm hoping that we are at least close to the production on defense as we were last year and that's pretty sad. I'm still hoping for the best...hoping we find some way to get everything out of the defense we possibly can....I just don't see it happening. We might be even worse this coming year than we were last year. It is a very possible thing. Our offense is in place...it's gonna take some major work to bring our defense up and be a contender. We've still got some good pieces in place on defense but the loss of the three mentioned if no kind of replacement is found is gonna hurt us big time. I really hope I'm wrong on this...I would love nothing more than to be wrong.

Not sure I have ever heard Spags utter anything negative. Even he can see the writing on the wall now.

Spags was kinda pissed during the whole show, he certainly acted like he thought it was a mistake to cut Ware

First time I can remember he was not waving the Pom Poms for a move the team did

to win and compete in the nfl In the playoffs you have to have a good defense and can run the ball really well you have to have a coach that understands how to win in the playoffs we have none of that all they want to do is pass all the time they don't know when to run the ball how to hold a lead can you see this team playing niner seahawks at home and rams and cardinals and saints and bears and beating any of those teams.

I Disagree. As soon as the Walker trade went down anyone could see that building through the draft and adding around #1 pick Aikman was the plan. 1989 was a clean out year that would be replenished with the picks in 1990. What's the plan here?

I was there too, and I have to agree with Novacek84 on this one.
Jimmy ws not afraid to wheel and deal, and would not accept losing.
You just knew it was going to be a matter of time until the ship was going to be righted.

Things in the past always look clearer in that hindsight is 20/20 vision. The Walker trade turned out to be a big thing but at the time it went down it was viewed as us getting rid of our best player and it meant we had no chance to do well. Not a real popular move at the time.

Once again, to the fans, the plan was not clear. The only thing fans could do was hope for the best.

WPBC, I was there , been a fan since 1975, I was excited about the Walker trade, when it happened.
With all those draft picks coming back, you knew things were going to get better.
Short term pain for long term gain.

Even Spags on Talking Cowboys yesterday responded to a caller by agreeing that right now there is no logical reason to think this team will be better than 500

Now he said that might change In the future, but right now this team looks worse after losing Ware

Oh damn, Spags said that... This team is on track for Marinelli Lions numbers then, considering the sunshine pumping he does.

Uh, because they got a brand new coach and ownership and saw Landry for years... On the other hand, we've had Jerry for what now, and Garrett not even moving the team forward and making the same mistakes and he's already demonstrated his crap coaching. And we got a new passing game coordinator, after Jason was demoted and Callahan started calling plays. And Callahan is still here. And Kiffen didn't get fired, but got another cushy job. And then Jerry tells us Jason kept getting involved, so he's moved him farther away and to spend time on defense. How are the two alike?

I expect what they have been producing for years. Average. We're good at that.

As long as Romo is here, he can make it average, cause his skill alone beats bum teams. They are usually close, with him pulling it out on game-winning drives, but he does it.

That's pure BS. when the Walker trade went down, Cowboy Nation went full-scale meltdown. He wad this team's only bonafide player of note, and the fans had very little cognizance of any kind of plan.

Absolutely.
It's easy to say that now, but I clearly remember my grandfather panning the trade, saying the. Cowboys had no idea what they were doing etc...
