This whole thing is a mess. It used to be #3 with the complaint, now it's going to be #5. All the teams held serve, so I don't see how/why they change it from last week. If they did want to get OSU in there, they sort of ranked themselves into a corner by putting TCU at 3 last week instead of 4. I think the only fair way to do all of this is to have each conference have a championship, and have the champs get the seeds. Eight seeds play over three weeks - Big 12, Big 10, ACC, SEC, Big East, Pac12, and pick two from CUSA/Independent/MidAm/SunBelt/Mt.West/American Athletic

It's going to stay a mess until it gets expanded further.
There was 1 team in a P5 conf without a loss, FSU.
In years past that gets them a title game versus Alabama in all likelihood.
That system was heinously wack.

This year there will be two very bitter teams, but it is an improvement.

Hopefully we get to 8 teams soon.
That should cover the 1 loss major conf teams and any outstanding outliers that may exist.
Teams can't play everyone but the champ should be determined on the field, playoffs style.

The criterion is the biggest issue.
Who the heck knows what it is.

I believe the criterion used all season should hold and the rankings of the top 6 should be unchanged.
But IF they were gonna change they'd merely flip 4 and 5 as they have definitely dropped teams for close wins and awarded big wins in past weeks.

There's no way I'd drop TCU off the top 4 after a 50+ point win and with a win over a B1G team by a more substantial amount than OSU.

The committee doesn't behave like regular rankings.
Why would blowing out Iowa St count the same as blowing Wisconsin?
The latter is far,far more impressive.
That holding serve stuff from the past was a huge flaw.
It's how teams ranked too high early could stay there even if they did nothing special.
For example, under the old system FSU is for sure I the title game by default...while now the top 2 would be Bama and Oregon.

It's an improvement, but we all knew 8 had to be the minimum together representation.

The Committee said Conference Championships would matter so not sure why anyone would think the games would not impact the rankings

If I'm making the judgment call it's not that complicated to me.

Look at losses rather than wins.

OSU and Baylor have ugly losses against weak opponents. TCU was screwed out of a win by the refs against one Baylor with a 2 call swing... Missed blatant PI in Baylor defense, and a suspect PI call gifted to baylors offense in the final minutes.

This is where the voters can set things straight. I really hope they realize that.

I'm all for the Big XII adding a couple of teams and having a championship game; however, I don't buy them not having a championship game as the primary reason they may get left out of the playoffs. If they did have a championship game this season the odds are that TCU would not have even played in it as they had lost to Baylor. More than likely both teams would be playing in the same division and only one of them could make it to the championship game. After that it depends on the scheduling. Would this season be one in which Baylor and K-State have played during the regular season and then faced off again in the conference championship game? If that was the case then I don't think that helps Baylor. Beating K-State twice would probably hurt this year. Maybe in other years it wouldn't, but I don't think it would have helped them this season. I prefer the championship game format, but it guarantees nothing.

They need to get rid of the rankings all together so there is no bias or subjective opinions on how teams move forward.

Field is 16 teams
Win your conferences to make the post season
The Committee schedules 2 games (1 home 1 away) for each power 5 conference to ensure they face each other

Art Briles needs to shut the hell up about head to head, in 2008 when Texas beat OU he had OU#1 and Texas #5 in his final poll. I guess this wasn't America back then.

Danny Kanel can shut the hell up too, saying the Big 12 was over valued all year and is top heavy so Ohio State should be in. Hey danny, what the hell is the Big 10? Well I'll tell you, it's the suck arse conference everyone knew it was all year.

WOW TCU.

Dropped from 3 to 6?

YIKES!!!
first prerequisite is 'Conference Champion'..... gave the committee an out (which TCU officially wasn't).... they shouldn't have jumped TCU to 3 in the first place...

The controversy will cause an 8 team playoff.

I feel sorry for the TCU program. You have a 50+ point victory & you drop 3 spots. Only in college ball..

Well now my Tide can roll all over those Buckeyes. It'll be sweet!
