If you are a defensive player, do you target Rodgers' calf?

Do you target rodgers calf?

I would. It would definitely be in my mind when tackling him, at the bottom of a pile, whatever the situation may be. I'm not saying do anything that could draw a flag, but between the whistles, go after it. This is nothing mew, guys have been going for romo's back. It's our turn, stakes are too high not to test that calf.

Id definitely try to get him off his spot. See how well he moves, but when it comes time to hit him, I'm doing more of a rugby style wrap and roll instead of laying the wood. Anything to hit that calf.

You would probably cause his calf more harm chasing him then actually tackling him but he would probably just throw it away or go down...

He is 1000x more likely to further injure it if they make him run than by somebody targetting it in a pile.

You people are as bad as Suh. Why can't you just play football and beat the guy you line up against.

I think it was Chris Carter who was saying that todays players don't have respect for the game or their opponent when talking about Suh.

We can't beat them, so lets injure them..

This defense is in no position to be picky about where they hit Rodgers or any other quarterback. Just get there. Do that enough and it won't matter how healthy he is.
This. You don't change the way you rush or tackle or hit in order to try to target his calf. You're way more likely to miss him or get yourself hurt that way than to do any extra damage to Rodgers.

Agreed

"No defensive player who has an unrestricted path to the quarterback may hit him flagrantly in the area of the knee(s) or below when approaching in any direction."

Hit him legally, again and again.

This front 4 is goin to surprise you Sunday. Make no mistake, Rodgers will feel this defense before it's all said and done.

Hopefully they can do better the pathetic Lions DL did against gimpy Rodgers. They never sacked him -- I'm not even sure they hit him once.

;)

forcing him to move quickly and often should do it, hitting it won't do anything

Chris carter is an idiot, not a great idea to reference him.

This is a part of the game. Ever heard of bounty gate? It happens in more places than just New Orleans, whether you like it or not.
