What he loses by not playing this year he doesn't care about.

Once he gets his guaranteed 40, he wins. He's not upset about missing out on 13, he's going to make it up. He could lose out on millions for two years straight. He'll make that up and then some from whomever pays him. He's made it clear 13 mil is chump change.

You seriously believe that if he sat out for two seasons, at the age of 28, a team would offer him a big time contract?

What if he gets hurt after signing the tag? Never gets a contract he's earned last year. What does great teammate get him then?

It's a two way street. The team is taking on the liability of that kind of situation and having to pay out the guaranteed money plus the added expense of having to replace him. It's not just about Dez. Both sides have to be reasonable.

How does sitting out games get him more money??? They can't negotiate a new deal after tomorrow.

Certainly makes you think he's got some leverage no? How does signing a tag work out for him? He wants Calvin money and he is supposed to take 13 and be happy? Its not like he'd get a deal he wants while accepting playing under the tag

OK. I don't see it. Heck, Dez with no football for two years is probably the worst possible scenario for Dez. I don't even think he could hold it together for that long without Football. I don't see it but if that's your opinion, that's cool.

Yeah I can't imagine it, but Dez will never lose his brand IMO and places like Jax would probably cream over him

I don't think he's going to get the deal he wants period. People want but they don't necessarily get. I want to win the lotto but all I can really do is throw away money in an attempt to get. He has no leverage here. He's going to play for 12.8 on a none guaranteed year to year deal for two years (if that's what he decides to do) or he's going to get something very close to that on a longer term deal with more guaranteed money. I see no scenario where he gets CJ money from the Cowboys or really ever. JMO

Thanks for the good laugh to the guy thinking Dez sitting out TWO whole years from football is a smart business move...

Were talking he would be what 28/29??? Wanting to command 16mill a year? lmao :lmao2:

Jax is never going to get the chance. I mean, that's not even worth discussing because it's never going to happen IMO. In two years, there is every possibility that Jax doesn't even have the cap to do that kind of deal. If that's what you believe, OK. I don't ever see it happening.

You're welcome lol I don't think it would be smart, but someone would pay him in total of more than what he lost

Throwing away 28m to make 2m extra a year is not a winning strategy

People are too literal ... I get Dez is a sensitive subject. But pretending he has no leverage is a joke. He's prepared to lose money in order to make it, and that scenario most likely costs the season as well

I'm still looking, where's it at.

You'd have to dig really deep into a couple of the Dez threads last month. I saw it being discussed a couple of times, but yeah...it wasn't at the forefront or its own thread.
