Backed by nothing? I am telling you, despite your ridiculous 2005 crap site reports, he slipped. Fact. He wasn't very good in his limited action his first year in the league, fact. Took him over 3 years to beat out an aging QB, fact.

So you had multiple team scouts, some with QB needs, saying this guy wasn't worth an early first round pick and you're coming at me with Kiper? Rodgers slipped for good reason, he wasn't a very impressive college QB, he needed time to develop in the NFL and completely changed up his mechanics.

Anything else?

I am telling you that NFL scouts and FOs that continually pick in the top 10-15 might be more crap which you assign a higher opinion to than "crap sites." Did you even watch the draft? the huge story was his fall.

You know who also slipped over 260 spots in 2003? Romo.

From the article

Thompson told MMQB:

"Three or four days before the [2005] draft we're doing our research, going down the board, and I'm looking, and I think, 'None of these teams are taking a quarterback.' I couldn't find one, after San Francisco. We hadn't really paid attention to Rodgers because we just figured he'd be gone. Plus, we didn't have that big a need there, obviously. So I just buried myself and went to look at all the Rodgers tape—from games, from the combine, from his pro day. After a couple of days I just felt he was too good to pass. So I said, "If he falls to us, we're taking him.'"

So what do you have exactly other than "Well teams missed, so he must have sucked"

This is turning into a good game.

QB play has been solid for both teams.

I hope we replace McFadden as the starter in the backfield but I pray we land a better option than Christine Michael.

Why do you want to replace him if you think our running game wasn't a problem? You make it sound like he did great.

Quote me where I stated Rodgers "sucked"? i said he wasn't an overly impressive college QB, I said he was a late first round/early second round talent coming out of college. I said his development from being a QB with poor throwing mechanics to completely changing this up his first few years with the Packers isn't something you can see as a scout.

And you're giving me Romo? Really? Romo also wasn't a very impressive college QB, it was warranted that he was undrafted. He wasn't a day one QB, not even a first or second season QB.

And your argument now is "Team scouts in the top 10-15" suck. Many QBs that are projected to be top 5-15 picks from your crap sites don't often slip like Rodgers did. It was for good reason.

CMike was activated for the Saints game the same game Dunbar was injured in. It took until week 4 for the Cowboys to activate him and he only got one carry. The following week vs NE he again only got one carry. What makes the Cowboys look stupid is they gave up a 7th round pick to a good a team for a player who they never gave much of chance to and ended up releasing. Seattle gets him back and he ended up gaining 192 yards in Seattle's final 3 games including 102 yards against a stout AZ defense helping them get to the playoffs.

Seattle will probably land a solid player in the draft with our 7th round pick. They found Russell Wilson in the 3rd round and Richard Sherman in the 5th round. We can only wish the Cowboys had the management and coaching the Seahawks have. They've lost players like Lynch and Jimmy Graham and still made the playoffs.

Not many teams turn 7th round picks into players. But yes the Seahawks have obviously been a better run team the last 5 seasons or 10 seasons for that matter.

That Arizona team was playing their backups and had nothing to play for. McFadden had 7 out of 11 starts with 90+ yards. Michael has done nothing to prove he can top that.

The argument is silly, what's done is done. Chances are that 7th round pick will amount to nothing and Michael will out of the league in two years. I am hoping the Cowboys sign Lamar Miller.

The aging MVP, Brett Favre, was the runner up to NFL MVP in his final season in Green Bay.

It's not like Favre wasn't playing well at the end of his tenure in Green Bay.

Brett Favre's stats when Rodgers was drafted

2005 - 70.9
2006 - 72.7
2007 - 95.7

Favre was awful the first two years Rodgers was in the league, yet he was still on the bench.

Cheering for the NFC East today. Revenge for last year.

Revenge for who? Washington beating the Packers isn't going to make Cowboy fans feel better about what happened to us against Green Bay.

It'll make me feel better. Green Bay is high on my list on non-divisional rivals I despise.

The running game was the least of our problems but we can do better and shouldn't count on McFadden to continue to be our bell cow. If the draft makes sense for us to take a back or we can land Lamar Miller for a reasonable price, we do it.

Worst case scenario, we roll with McFadden and our running game will instantly be better with a healthy Romo.
