AZ should be on the list and IMO would be a great place for Romo. That city loves Cowboys. Strong D, WR, RB and solid OL and coaching.

And with Emmitt became the place where former Cowboy greats went to end their careers.

Osweiler ain't going anywhere, getting rid of him would result in $25 million in dead money. So if the Cowboys can't afford to pay Romo $20 mil to sit on the bench, how can Houston pay both Brock ($19 million this season) and Romo?

Because one of them isn't a starter and they made a huge mistake signing him. They can work something out in time to get rid of him.
They have to do something or they will never go anywhere. We are in a different boat. We have an absolute stud at QB and have zero need for Romo. His time is up.

Or he will play like an elite QB like he has for the majority of his career.

He has never been elite and he has been seriously hurt the last two seasons. Now he is a year older. Talk about rolling the dice. Some team will be dumb enough to do it.

Garrett basically all but guaranteed that he will be released. He said they "want the best for him whether he is here or whether he is somewhere else." Doesn't exactly translate to "we're going to trade him to the Jets or Cleveland for the best haul". Jerry is also likely so racked with guilt about not winning a Super Bowl for him, coupled with the latest Three Stooges move of trying to win the Super Bowl with a rookie that he'll almost certainly do anything Tony asks.

I am pretty sure Jerry knew that we were not going to win the SB with a rookie QB. Sure he gave lip service to the idea, but we all know that was never going to happen.

I think Jerry knew that we were not going to beat Aaron Rogers, Matt Ryan, and Tom Brady all in a row to win the SB with a rookie QB, not unless you got the 85 Bears defense which we obviously don't.

I am not going to argue over what Tony may decide......no one knows

I was just showing how DAL is a viable option

Dirk took less, Tim Duncan took less, Big Papi took less......yeah they had won but some players like to stay home

But did they take less to watch from the sideline?

I don't think so

I mean, I certainly hope Jerry believed it... because by not putting Romo back in when he was healthy, he basically told Romo, Witten and the other older veterans who may never get another crack at it, "Hey now, trust me on this, 50 years of no rookie QBs in the Super Bowl, but we're going to do this. We're special, history don't apply to us." And then they didn't even win one game, lol. I'm sure Witten and Romo were not amused.

If Houston were smart they'd be contemplating it at least.

With their defense and the playmakers they have on offense, if they can patch up the OL a bit, having Tony would instantly make them a serious contender in the AFC.

Everyone I know that's a Texans fan hates Brocketship.

The FO and Coaches made a decision to get Dak some experience over a legit shot to win a SB this year. Anyone that knows football, knew this. No way were we winning a SB with Dak this year. That fate was sealed. Now if we can go on and win a few SB over the next few years, it will have been worth it.. if not.. it was a stupid decision. Time will tell.

He did, for this year anyway. No way, he sits down next year and plays the good solider, if they decide they won't cut him or trade him. He will be saying he is the best QB on the team and should start from the minute OTA begins.. and he would be right. If they decide to keep Romo, they can't expect him to be the good guy he was this year. That is why he will be released. No team is going to offer a good pick because they know he will be released.

This right here... Which is why he specifically mentioned that it lit his competitive fire even more. People think Romo is some goofball, but everybody that's knows him speaks of how competitive he is. Romo isn't going to sit back and backup anybody, including Dak, next year if he's on the Cowboys..

And Jerry himself and the organization refused to look beyond this year. And Jerry had been saying Romo can play multiple years. And he just came out and said the same thing, while mentioning exactly what Rodgers did as a franchise QB in that game.

I just can't believe some people honestly think Romo would accept a back-up role anywhere, if they have been following his career and knowing his skill level. The guy is not only a football player, but excels in every sport he plays, including golf and basketball. He's way too competitive.

Miami would also be a good fit but not sure the details on Tannehill's contract.

They seem to be all-in on Tannehill. Whether they should be or not is up for debate, but it looks like they've hitched their wagon to him for the foreseeable future.

Since history is destiny in your mind, why do you want to start the guy who was 0-3 in the division round of the playoffs, never making the NFC championship game in his entire career? Why do you think the guy who never threw for 300 yards and 3 TDs in a playoff game is going to win a shootout where the other team hung 34 on the Cowboys defense?

Using your logic, if it didn't happen before it can't ever happen in the future, so the Cowboys were doomed either way.

If Romo starts 16 games...that team is likely making the playoffs IMO.

As a GM what is that worth to you...isn't that what it's all about?

I think QB hungry teams should be lining up for Romo.

I agree about the playoffs, but that is a gigantic IF

I guess they'll weigh the cost vs risk and go from there

If Romo was their QB when they played NE, I think Houston would have won.

I tend to agree. They hung tough for a while. But not only does Osweiler severely limit them, he's single-handedly managed to take DeAndre Hopkins out of top 5 receiver status.
