During DallasCowboys.Com Cowboys Break, Steve Eatman asked Will McClay about Rico Gathers and everything sounds very promising. McClay even went on to say, “We can’t stop him”. And Rico/Romo were going against 1st teamers in byron jones, church and heath.

So his passcatching was called "unstoppable" against 1st teamers, but yet there are people who claim Rico is nothing special? That was in 2017, so people seriously now think he 'forgot' how to be unstoppable???

https://thesportsdaily.com/2017/05/03/will-mcclay-on-rico-gathers-we-cant-stop-him/

furthermore, Broaddus said during an episode of The Draft Show this week. “I will say this. I had people come up to me and say, cause I was always curious about Rico [Gathers], I had people come up to me and say ‘You ought-of seen what [Tony] Romo did with him today, ... Cause Romo was with him on scout team. And Romo just kept throwing him the ball because he was so much bigger. He was battling [Barry] Church, he’s battling [Byron] Jones, he’s battling [J.J.] Wilcox and [Jeff] Heath. The kid just kept making plays. The problem is not the athletic ability, it’s the mental side…he just hasn’t played football”

here is a video of a Mcclay gushing about Rico.

You cant stop this bum ?
Reevaluate your first teamers.

my point for posting the thread is for the general reader - not to convince someone who already has made up their mind.
i really could not give a damn what they think.
however, their numerous responses have served my purpose well - that is for the general reader (including any press people) to see the title of the thread on the top of the 1st page of cz - that Mcclay said Rico was unstoppable against 1st team defenders.
and if readers are unaware of this, then the videos would be the 1st things they see when they click.
for that i am thankful in their pro bono assistance in my pr effort.
if u want me to stop responding, u need to offer some sizable reward, starting with some appropriate pics of @daboyzruleperiod

and given 10s of general readers, who all disagreed with you....I guess you failed in convicing anybody based on one statement in one article from two training camps ago......

and btw, you are using your emoji's wrong....

so you continue make claims, then say the exact opposite....you said, your intent was to convince general readers...then say that they all had made up their mind.... so you are saying, there was no general readers.... and givens everyone, and I mean everyone on this thread, media, coaches, GMs all agree on Rico, with you the only one in the universe on the other side...given you have admitted you are not that good or that knowledgable about basketball, player evaluation, skill evaluation, etc.....yet you still hold on to rico being great, and that not even based on your own observation, reporting, analysis, etc, just based on a 5 word comment that's prior to two training camps ago..

and you don't think GMs, scouts, coaches make mistake on player evaluation? doesn't Ryan leaf ring a bell? I mean there was tons of evidence, and first hand observations and even camp, games, etc....yet he failed and was probably the worst draft pick ever...yet there was so many comments about how great he is.....should we ignore all the newer evidence and stubbornly hang on to a statement that's at this point meaningless and irrelevant?

despite whatever u try to twist the facts, it was not a 5 word comment. he talked about it in detail in the interview. that was then discussed by the press, who also said they talked to various cowboys people who said the same thing. sure everyone makes mistakes, but this is by far the strongest remarks i have seen mcclay make. and the video of his play against 1st teamers back that up.

as far as why i started the thread. it is to remind people, particularly any press members of what happened before. press people are not going to bother with anything else other than looking at the title and perhaps the first couple pages in the thread where the videos are. so thank you for your pro bono service. public relations was part of my responsibility in previous project, so i do speak from experience here.

the new evidence is that rico makes plays when given the opportunity. he has the most yards out of the tight end candidates, for whatever that is worth. he has not been given the opportunity to play with 1st teamers in preseason, so the last data with 1st teamers is pretty much from the 2016-2017 season.
