What would happen if Dak stopped listening to the coaches?

Did you see what we were trotting out there before him? Not even to diminish his greatness. Just the teams, not the QB.

And hell, his teams were often lopsided and poorly constructed.

Romo had 5 elite seasons. All on his own. He'd be a HOF if he played for Andy Reid or Belichick.

Linehan is lousy at play calling. When you have the best RB in the NFL inside the 10 yard line on 1st and goal and you DON'T run the ball once - you're an idiot. And that's one example.
He's never coached an elite RB, he's only had primary passing offenses.

Fair. But I still believe there's a defining moment yet to come for Dak's career and it will be when he says screw you to the dumbing down and starts to truly take over the offense.

Tony had TO and young, still mobile,Witt, Crayton, that played pretty well, Barber a pretty good defense with Ware and Ellis with double digit sacks each, T-New, Hamlin, Henry and Roy Williams with several picks each, we had a pretty good OL with Flozell, Columbo and Gurode and Folk hadn't gotten the yips yet. I think we had a dozen Pro-Bowlers on that team. I wish we had that talent on this team now. Dak doesn't have anywhere near that amount of talent around him. Don't drink the kool-aid.

They also forget Tony Romo had Jason Garrett as his play caller and wasn’t allowed in game planning meetings until he got his new contract nor did he have Callahan and that all pro line developed my him with the running game a majority of his career, another guy Garrett grew jealous of and feuded with.

Clearly they also forget pro-bowl is voted by the fans and when the Dallas Cowboys have some success, they get a lot of players in the pro-bowl just on fandom alone. Also Being on America’s team is why a player like Dak earned the most endorsements of any NFL player in 2017, more than even guys like Brady..

All of these guys became pro bowl linemen because of Romo buying time. Leonard Davis was a bust before Romo, Guride couldn’t even call plays as center, Columbo was another journeyman and so so. This group, minus Davis allowed close to 50 sacks after Flozell Adams went down in like 2005 or 2006.

As I noted earlier in this thread, Romo replaced the woefully unpopular Bledslug. Dak has the wonderful distinction of replacing everyone's favorite golden boy Romo. Slightly different sitcheashen.

If Linehan was here with Romo and Wade ten years ago, we probably would have had at least 1 SB by now and competed for multiple NFC championships.
