2 scenarios for Garrett

Yeah, no. Each of those games have been discussed to the point of exhaustion. I'm not going to restart all of that. That only serves to take the discussion off the focus of where it is now. If you don't know what those issues were, then I think you really shouldn't be trying to defend Garrett.

You can preach the success of Garrett tell the Cows come home but you are not going to convince anybody on this board because they are tired of waiting for the breakthrough. 12 wins, 2 division titles and only one playoff win, against 2 loses in 8 years. That's where your "asinine" ends up hanging out in the wind.

There's no need to convince anybody, Garrett isn't going anywhere. Continuity is the method of choice by the FO, you either get on board or wallow in your misery, to upset the chemistry of the team now, as I said is asinine. Oh, since you have no decisions you would've made, means you have none.

Well, I think I've said that repeatedly. That doesn't mean he shouldn't have been fired long ago and that also doesn't mean that the coaching staff isn't responsible for missing the playoffs this year and it doesn't mean that the Fan Base is wrong here.

Get on board if you wish but don't try tell anybody that not getting on board is asinine. They are not wrong.

Nor does it means he should've been and the organization doesn't think so as well. So it's you who need to get on board or step. Still doesn't change the fact that starting over takes you further away from what you're calling for. It's asinine.

LOL..... It's funny that you believe "Step" is your decision to make for anybody. If the Fans start "Stepping", you and your boy Garrett are going to be the ones left in the cold. You had better hope that that does not happen.

I get it, you like to say the word asinine. You are basically calling everybody stupid but fact remains, nobody here is on board with you. You may as well get used to it. That's where the fan base is at right now. I wonder, does that mean you had better get on board with it of step? I'll let you decide. One thing is for sure, this board is not going to put up with you calling everybody stupid for very long. When that happens, it's going to get ugly and that's not going to go well. I'm just trying to tell you how I see it going.

I tell you what, you and your ilk start stepping and I bet you won't be missed. I guarantee there twice as many of us fans that are behind this organization than the few pitch fork and torches crew. I go to at least 3 games a years and the fandom and excitement has never disappointed.

Sounds like you want to test the theory. Go ahead, lets see how much support you get. Good luck but remember, I tried to tell you.

I don't need to test it, you'll see in July, fans will be just as energized for a new season with this same Head Coach at the helm.

I'll see in July but what will we see in December is the issue. How do you not see that? I hope you are right, I hope everybody is wrong and Garrett becomes a good HC but history doesn't suggest that this will happen. In fact, it says that it has never happened.

You believe what you want to believe.

Jerry and Stephen are definitely behind all these assistant coaches being let go and replaced. this doesn't seem like something garrett would do. which basically leaves two scenarios. either the team will go far into the playoffs next year, or its last year of garrett.

basically fingers are being pointed at the assistant coaches for failures of 2017. Jerry/stephen want some continuity and give it one more shot with this head coaching staff. garrett is officially on a hot seat, and not because the fans and media say so
Why would anyone believe that success is tied to Garretts tenure here?

And what is success this era with the Cowboys?

How would we define that now?

Most of them live in the past when there was no salary cap and Jerry's pockets was limitless

I don't understand the reference to the past in an NFL with no salary cap. That really doesn't make much sense to me.

They won 9 games. Five of those were wins over the hapless lot Giants, Commanders and 49ers. Then another was the end of the year thing against the Eagles that meant nothing. They did beat an 8-8 Cardinals team at home. They somehow beat a 6-10 Raiders team on the road. The highlight of the season was a home win over the Chiefs. In four of their losses they got absolutely smoked! Excuses aside that record is not much to hang your hat on. I think Cowboy fans are just looking for hope and perhaps change. With Jerry Jones in charge that may be asking too much.

He got a lot of talent, that's true. I will say this, the story behind McVay and Garrett are very different. McVay has been in the NFL as a coach for awhile and he's learned under some good people. Garrett basically got given the job with almost no NFL experience and that, to me at least, is a big part of the problem. JMO

lol wait what? i can't stand garrett but this is backwards as all get out.

Talking about the Cowboys' standard. We haven't won since the triplets, when we were able to put the best team on the field year in and year out with Jerry's deep pockets.

How so? McVay came up through the ranks. He started in 2008 with Tampa. He then coached TEs in the UFL. He then became TEs coach in Washington. He then got promoted to OC in Washington. He got the HC gig last year with the Rams. That's 9 years of coaching professionally.

Garrett was a QB Coach with Miami and two years later, he was made the OC in Dallas. A couple of season later he was named HC. I mean, that's very little experience, in terms of what other HCs have had, prior to getting a HC gig in the NFL.

Yeah, still don't get the connection. How are most fans who don't believe in Garrett tied to the Early 90s teams?

And having this many new coaches coming in, Jerry already has Garrett a built in excuse even if we have another bad year next year by using the excuse that he had so many new coaches coming in we need to give them another year of working together.........blah, blah, blah....fast forward to 2019 now.

I really think fans think Jerry cares a lot more about stuff like this than he probably does. As long as it doesn't hurt the bottom line, he doesn't need to worry about excuses. If fans dislike it enough to stop going to games, he'll make a change. Otherwise, he doesn't need to point to a bunch of position coach turnover. It doesn't really matter.

Backwards indeed...lol This guy is a hack. Mcvay starting coaching in 2008, before that he did practically nothing close to coaching, never played in the league. Garrett played under Jimmy,Norv,Coughlin,Gruden, and Saban. Coached under Saban and was coordinator here before becoming HC.

Because most of them use the same narrative that they're used to winning Super Bowls.

Lots of players play. Doesn't mean they are good coaches in the NFL. Garrett was an assistant QB coach and then a QB coach in Miami. Saban was a crappy NFL coach. He became an OC with one year of assistant to the assistant experience and one year of being a QB coach for a crappy team. Who gets to become an OC with a resume like that?
