GT got hosed. College football is a joke. First the PI that bailed them out the tying regulation drive was OPI. Then the guy beats the center like a dog and is held and no call. Kirby Smart whines more than any coach.

Some bad calls, or no calls, but GT had that game and let it slip.

Oh well. Just glad the past two seasons they've improved to where they can be in the game with UGA. That King fumble on 3rd and 1 was unfortunate and turned the game.

ACC and B12 had several ok teams this year, but lacked any true contenders

Gone are the days of Clemson running the ACC without any true competition.
Can't see Miami taking that next step with Mario.
FSU, who knows...
Curious to see how SMU does with NILs.

The SEC had several ok teams this year but lacked any real contenders.
The only unbeaten team is Oregon. Who have played some toughies but who also has been taken to the limit by some teams who are certainly not.

There are no super teams this year.

When Alabama has three losses(two to mediocre teams and one was a blowout) and some are still trying to put them in the playoffs, you know something is wrong

but then having twelve teams was always a joke

Exactly right.
This is a parity season.

With a 12 or more-team playoff this will resemble the NFL which is ALL about parity.

Tennessee is ranked 6th which is a COMPLETE joke. They faced only 2 of the 9 SEC teams that won 5 or more SEC games. And split those games.... so 1 quality win ALL SEASON. 4 non conf games to bad teams with the best being a .500 10th place ACC team.
People just excuse SEC nonsense while railing against others.

If the best you can do in your own conference is go 5-3 you have zero business being mentioned as a CFP team.
The SEC's top seed is a Big 12 team.
The Big 12's top seed is a PAC 12 team.
The ACC's top seed is an American conf team.
The Big 10's top seed is a PAC 12 team.

Those conf badges mean jack squat.
Tell me how many teams you beat who won 8 or more games versus P4 competition.
Those are the teams I want to see rewarded.

Oregon is rightfully placed as the top seed; but they are not elite. They have at least done their job. A lot of schools being considered have not come close to that. Alabama being a prime example.

They have 3-4 teams capable of winning it all…..which is the very definition of contenders

Now, if you want to argue that their top teams aren't as strong as recent years, I won't disagree.

I just don't consider Clemson, SMU, Az State, or Iowa St as capable of winning it all

as bad as the BCS was it is better than this pile of crap

Teams that truly deserve to be in contention for the NC were chosen. There was of course some disagreement but the top teams pretty much always ended up in the playoff. NOW we got three loss teams involved.
There is no way to respect this at all

One thing I always liked about college football was that the WHOLE SEASON MATTERED. only teams that kept winning the whole season contended, not some team that was meh for a while and then got hot.

Bingo and you can throw Miami in there. They have beaten nobody.
