Why is there such an uproar over one 4th round pick?
It's like all Zoners here have forgotten how 2nd rounders for over 2 decades (by a vast majority but not all) have been throw away selections on character and injury risks.

Get over it.
Heck, I don't even like this year's 2nd rd pick tbh.
But yeah, one 4th rd pick on the basis of risk/reward to try and improve your team is nothing.
Well worth the risk.

The uproar is just a display of the pro/anti Dak sentiment here. The people who don’t like Dak are hopeful Lance can become a true 1st round QB, the people who like Dak want him to be a bust here so Dak keeps going.

I think it is a great play for a talented young QB who needs more work and playing time. Good situation, Dak is the starter and Lance can learn and improve as a QB without being thrown into the game. If he fails, we lose a 4th, can live with it. If he turns out to be a good QB, then we got him for a 4th.

I stand corrected.... so why did they draft Love. Wasnt Rodgers basically being a PIA and talking about retirement? Regardless... they used a 1st rd pick on love and it was NOT a distraction. Love patiently waited his turn..... like it used to be in the old days.

That’s the problem in believing you can fix problems other people have tried very hard to fix. He may have been talented when he came out but when he couldn’t show any progress after 2-3 years in a QB friendly offense he’s no longer a good prospect. IMO

Lance has shown nothing in the NFL. He hardly had any college experience to even be worth using a 3rd overall pick. 49ers simply were trying to get a reasonable draft pick for Lance. 49ers know Trey Lance has nothing to offer, hence why they were trading him while willing to keep an undrafted QB in Purdy and another high draft bust in Darnold as a backup. Cowboys should have offered no higher than a 6th round pick. Cowboys got suckered once again.
