rumor...just a rumor...radio guys think that maybe they were debating between texas RB and LB but chose the LB.
Who knows.

Evans had character issue red flags and that is why he fell so far to begin with.

I wanted Israel from Pitt

Ok, fair enough. Do you have confidence that the coaches will carve out a nice role for deuce? Do you think he will be more than a special teams return guy?
Yes bc McCarthy and Schotty said they have packages they used for Randall Cobb. I personally don't think they need to do anything special after watching him play, he is a complete back.

Rooting for the kid big time. Wish we had picked up a really good left guard to give him some daylight to run through

lol

I can see why he skipped doing anything at the combine and only ran the 40 once at his pro day (they didnt even release the time but estimated at 4.52-4.55).

Nice story and all. Hope his dad doesn't get as emotional when hes cut.

Experts on here saying Gibbs was to small. lol And Vaughn isnt anywhere close to Sproles, other than Vaughn is shorter, lighter and slower.

Hes not beating out Turpin for return duties. Hes not beating out Jones or Davis. As backup.

So where does he fit? Practice squad. He can hang around a few years there I guess.
You are too dug in to even wish him success.

Admittedly, I never considered Deuce Vaughn as a viable draft prospect so I never really watched his tape. I watched some of his tape tonight. Looks like a 3rd grader playing football with high school kids. Come on guys.

This may sound weird what im about to say but I feel bad for Deuce and his dad because in the back of both of their minds they are probably both wondering if he would’ve got drafted or whatever if Dallas hadn’t made the call.

As a fan of the Cowboys I’d be the first to call them out because I don’t care about the feel good story as much as I care about my team winning a football game.

So regardless of this story I personally wanted Deuce Vaughn to be drafted by the Cowboys because I think he’s a heck of a football player and a unique weapon.

He’s was super productive and played bigtime competition and just a fun player to watch.

Oh, the super top secret work out. Gottcha.

No chance his dad was clocking him, right?

If he had legit 4.4 speed he would have ran at the combine. He ran once at his pro day and it was 4.55 range.

Then he mysteriously shows up to the team that his dad is a scout for and runs a 4.41.

Can you at least see my apprehension with this little nugget?

He had a 90 yard TD run against Alabama.

His speed isn’t an issue.

I’ve loved watching this guy for TCU, I think he could end up being a Cowboys legend, easily m favorite pick of this draft. Amazing value in the 6th!!!

As a UT alumni, I watched a ton of big 12 games and that included a lot of K-state games and I can tell you without a doubt this kid is legit.

Between drafting my boy Overshown and then drafting "Mighty Mouse", this has turned out to be a fantastic draft!!!

I dont even care about reaching for the TE in the 2nd, we usually just piss away our 2nd rounders anyways so anything we get out of the dude is gravy.

Dude put up 133 on Bama's NFL defense............the same defense that totally shut down all-world Bijan (57 yds on 21 carries).

Man,
And here I thought GOAT Brady was the greatest 6th round pick in NFL history.

Those Cowboys and their draft picks...

Cowboys draft team playing 4 dimensional chess while all the other loser teams are playing checkers.
Absolutely untouchable I tell ya.

Super Bowl!
This made me laugh. Never seen a board explode in a 80% range in random picks. I did like this one more than the first 2.

Man, you are working really hard to prove something. No one here is saying he’s going to be a great RB. We just think he was the best back available, and we believe any guy with that much success against big time competition can compete with anyone. We will all see if he can maneuver in the NFL soon enough. No need to poo poo the guy before that.
Next Emmitt? Splitting carries with Pollard? Cut Turpin?

The only reason I posted anything is because all draft long, most of what I read from the local couch scouts was - that pick sucked, he wont make a difference, we way over reached on that one, whos this scrub.

Then we draft Vaughn and the same guys are out calling him a savior. lol

I dont expect much from this board or those posting on it, with the exception of a few. But man alive, some folks should stick to the shtick and reinvest the few hours they spent watching youtube hilights on something else.

Wow…

I don’t get how the tape and production didn’t have teams more intrigued.

There is a chance we stole something special I’m telling you..

He could be a complete bust but what people consider a weakness has actually what’s been his strength all along.
He reminds me of Christian McCaffrey in his run style, versatility and hard nosed style.

Miniaturized of course lol

Not true. I hope he does well. That just means the team will be better.

I only said something after seeing post after post on how this guy was going to be our savior. That after reading post after post from some of the same folks who thought Mazi wasnt going to make a difference. Schoon was a huge reach. And pretty much everyone else was a scrub.

I don't know how much of what is said in here is just internet hyperbole or an actual lack of NFL IQ. Seems more the latter.

And Ive been pretty trusting of McClay and the scouts, except this one case where the scout is the kids dad. And for basically a 7th round pick, I have no problem with it. Its a nice story.

It would be nice if the board was as optimistic as I am with the first 6 picks as I am pessimistic about Vaughn.
