Goodell's not a racist. Actually, he tried his best to give Adam Jones the opportunity of a very lucrative career in the NFL. However, it's Jones' fault for not wanting it as much as Goodell himself.

A grown man can drink. A grown man who has been reinstated with a condition that he cannot create a publicized incident involving alcohol will pay the penalty for drinking.

The reason why "everyone else" can drink and he cannot is just that simple.

If he's foolish enough to create an incident while he is currently suspended or later reinstated (again) while eating a hamburger it's not the hamburger's fault. It is his.

This isn't about "society's rules". It's about the commissioner stating that Adam Jones must obey the conditions of his reinstatement so that it doesn't negatively impact the NFL. If anyone wants to bring in other examples of Goodell's oversight, be my guest, but as far as Jones is concerned, it's just that simple.

Everyone doesn't have to "fall in line". The vast majority of players in the NFL can go out, have a drink and return home without creating an incident which draws media attention. There aren't over 3,000 Adam Jones in the NFL. There is only a handful. Why can't some people understand this???

If Goodell was in the league in the nineties we wouldnt have Irvin for very many games or many others.Either way Pac deserved maybe a game and a fine.

Irvin was suspended for 5 games. So we didn't have him. Had it been more I would have been fine with it.

During that time that I was on probation if I had got so much as an illegal parking ticket my license would have been suspended.

He truly cant help it, he is an alcoholic/addict and needs to get help for that. Maybe a 12-step program or some counseling or both. either way, a man that was given this type of 5th or 7th or 100th chance to mess it all up for some alcohol is screaming for help. He is the only one that cant see it, which is exactly what that (disease) will do..........

I hope he shuts it down for good and gets the help he needs that will save his life, otherwise he will die in 5 years or worse live with this addiction for 20+ years!

If anything he gave us a false sense of security which allowed us to cut Evan Oglesby who had a very good camp to make room for develomental Allan Ball who supposedly had more upside.
