Calvin Watkins: Cowboys are expected to interview Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn

I will be pleasantly surprised if either of these in-demand coaches - with other options - ever sit down for an interview with Big and Little Enos.

I don’t think it’s happening.
It looks good on the resume. Unless they are hired before those interviews, I see no reason why they wouldn't interview.

Does it?

Let’s revisit this subject at a later date.

I’ll gladly accept it if I’m wrong and either guy interviews here.

I don’t see it happening.
Why would interviewing for a head coaching job in the NFL not look good on your resume as a coach?

I would take Ben Johnson, but I doubt Jerry could pull it off.
IF Jerruh is serious, then money will not be an object and if you throw enough money at Johnson he takes it. Granted we don't have the RBs we have and his TE is better than ours, but Lamb is better than any WR they have and Goff is a statue like Dak so who knows, he made them good, maybe he can with us too.

Then again, maybe he will be Fangio/Monte Kiffin/Jim Johnson and only be a good coordinator.

They could interview for leverage. Is Jerry going to pay more than another team?

Exactly.....I agree working under Jerry has its challenges but I don't think it's anywhere near as bad as we think ( well that's before this season LOL ). As for the Raiders job.....good luck winning that division within the next 2-4 years.
I don't either. I keep telling people these coaches are arrogant. And some of them are enticed by being the one who puts the Cowboys over the hump. I don't think people are as afraid of working under Jerry as they think. Its just gonna depend on compensation. Because ultimately these guys want job security. And going to the Raiders with NOTHING in place but Maxx Crosby who seems to be on the block....no one WANTS to handle that unless its a contract you can't refuse.

Well when it comes to Dak let's not pretend like one he needs to be developed. He is what he is good or bad. The hope is to fix some things so we can get a efficient offense in the playoffs. That should be the main goal. Getting Dak to throw 40 TD's shouldn't be the concern because we've seen it. We need to fix that playoff issue.

It appears they have found their QB and word is Vrabel wanna trade for AJ from the Eagles.
I mean its early to say if he's THE RIGHT guy. But even then he's not enough. They need far more than him and I don't understand why the Eagles would trade AJ....unless they think he's a cancer.

If Jerry is serious he will create cap space.

How can anyone take or think Jerry is serious?

Solid defense and a running game should do the trick. In other words, he can get you to post-season, that's proven but from there, you wanna take the ball out of his hands a bit.
You need a well balanced, complimentary football team to win in the playoffs.

Weakness will be exploited once the tournament starts.

At best we have had 3 out of 5 parts of a complete team.

Offense - good passing game and can't run the ball.

Defense - good pass rush/secondary and can't stop the run.

Specially teams - have been solid due to Specialists.

AJ was one of Vrabel's favorite players as the Titan's coach. He was 100% against the trade to the Eagles. AJ only has one year of guaranteed money left on his contract. He's been a bit of an enigma......so I can def see Howie pulling something off.
