naw, it's just furthering his anything positive about the 'boys must be shot-down agenda, even if most of the reasoning is outlandish

Awww. Pathetic little shill got his "my team, right or wrong" feelings hurt. To make it up to you, I'll cast you in Tony's "QB's Gone Wild" vid. But don't take off your shirt.

unfortunately many people apply standards to others they'd never apply to themselves.

I didn't tell him to stop having fun. I said "rein it in" a little. Believe it or not, you can have fun without turning yourself into the NFL's version of Paris Hilton. Time to curb the "look at me" extracurriculars.

fair enough - but is that what he's doing OR is the media following him around due to his storybook year last year?

bring a judge in a pageant is just a few hours of time and kinda a fun way to kill an evening. why is that so wrong?

other times - like at ghost bar - people took pics and plastered them all over the internet - not his fault.

just because we *can* be inundated with information these days doesn't mean it's anyone elses responsibility to limit what we hear but our own. the internet makes it *too easy* at times and basing players from 30+ years ago simply isn't a fair comparison - they could have partied a LOT harder and only a small fraction of the people would know.

information overload is a society problem, not an individual fault.

SO WHAT!! He needs time away from football. He is attending all the OTA's, he is working out and learning the offense from Garrett.

I think its great that he is doing it, more power to him. I am jealous!! Once TC starts, he is going to eat and breathe football. That is the kind of guy he is, so a few days away from Valley Ranch will do him good.

The real works starts at TC anyway. He can learn the plays and terminology in the offseason and once he gets the pads on is when all the prep work comes into play.

the only one offended here is you, I find it quite funny that you guys are all up in arms because Romo is taking maybe 3 hours out of his football life for this

oh noess, how will he ever overcome all this?!! WAAAA I love the Commanders!!

fair enough? what? Romo can't live his life? Romo is one of the most serious Cowboys on this roster, the 1st few weeks Garrett was in Dallas, Romo was right there w/ him, and soon after Wade was hired too, going over some of the new wrinkles being instituted and watching tape

I find it funny how the perceived negative attention Romo is getting, is somehow taking away the work-ethic he's brought to Dallas, when it hasn't at all, when in fact Romo has already put in some time to learning the new offense, albeit no less than anyother Cowboy player is doing

That's an understatement. Romo could poop gold and rcaldw would call it pyrite.

Here are just a few threads started by rcaldw on Romo. Mind you, these aren't random posts -- they're actual threads started on the guy.

Hehe, been away for a bit and it looks like my name has come up.

Well let me ask you. Read each one of those posts and tell me where I've been unreasonable, unfair, or haven't expressed some hope and desire that Romo is the long term answer at QB?

Second, no matter what the subject for debate is, the greatest evidence that you don't have any ammunition for your argument is when you try to marginalize your opponent by "branding" him. Did I like Henson? Yes. Have I explained this adnausium? Yes. Do I give a rip about that now? No. How long have I been a Cowboys fan? For as long as I can remember and I'm 43 years old. Enough said.

Third, funny line about the poop gold thing, but the truth is, the opposite is true for some of you. He could poop what we all poop and YOU would CALL it gold. I'm not against Tony Romo, and I think I've already explained myself clearly enough.

Troy Aikman dated Lorrie Morgan in 1993 and was rumored to be dating Sandra Bullock and Janine Turner

Was named eligible Bachelor from Texas Monthly

Was on an episode of Coach in 1993

Was in the movie Jerry Maguire in 1996

Also was in King of the Hill and Simpsons

and all this was before the internet days ......

*Dated Lorrie Morgan 1993 (post Super Bowl Victory)
*On an episode of Coach 1993 (post Super Bowl Victory)
*In the movie Jerry Maguire in 1996 (post Super Bowl Victory)

I don't know the dates on all the other stuff, but I think a pattern emerges here.

No, it's not just "three" hours. These incidents and fratboyish behavior are starting to pile up. Weren't we supposed to be concerned about his "head" after the Seattle game? Looks like he's gotten over it.

This from a guy who thinks the Cowboys' socks don't stink like everybody else's. Rooting for the Skins is preferable to calling you a fellow fan.

so Romo has to sit in a depressive state for 6-8 months and brood about something that is no longer under his control?

how are his actions starting to pile up bbgun? because it rancors you? then pile on Romo...pile on

heh - yea. it's utterly FREAKING AMAZING TO ME you can read all my romo defense and bypass that to read into "fair enough" to make it a stance i never meant it to be.

"fair enough" in that i understand where he's coming from - but that doesn't mean i agree.

FAIR ENOUGH?

geez some people are just amazing. you can read my stance time and time and time again but it's not enough when you see something you can go "hunting" on.

Actually, you are making some good points in this thread.

What happened back pre-internet seems to be what people cannot understand about NFL players. There were some "hell raisers" on the old Cowboy teams that noone, especially the younger generation, just don't understand.

Walt Garrison rode his friggen horse into Ditka's resturant/bar one day...but, because there was no internet the news did not travel out. If there was an internet, I wonder how many people would try and throw him under a bus?
