Because people can not separate the two; to many people are an all or nothing when it comes to sports.

Im pretty sure people are looking at my avatar and not bothering to read what I wrote then writing a bunch of dribble that has nothing to do with what I said.

And your right about people and sports.

Singletary will probably make him play his first game in a skirt.

Sounds to me like he already wears one....................

It's hilarious that you guys are saying the exact same thing I was saying in earlier posts, but I get told I'm making enemies just because I think he's going to be productive on the field....

I agree 100%. I already said hes not being a man by letting people influence him so much.

It will take him a few more years to actually "grow up". He reminds me of Antonio Bryant, not in the skillset, but the mindset. AB was extremely immature when he came out, he's grown up a lot though.

He'll sign, He's not going to get drafted any higher in 2010 and is only losing money by doing this

My take..

Many WR's are primadonnas so none of us should be surprised by this. I actually like Crabtree or any player for that matter, who backs up what he says on the field. Would I prefer a guy who just goes out there and does the job quietly? Yes. But most of us Cowboy fans remember a guy named Michael "The Playmaker" Irvin. That guy talked a little and since he did it with a Star on his helmet most of thought it was great.

I'm all for a guy getting as much money as possible. I want more money at my job. At the same time, I think the NFL desperately needs to adopt a rookie scale just like the NBA. Rookies should sign, get in camp, and start learning. If the salary is pre-determined the player can't complain.

As far as Crabtree sitting out a year, this would be the year to do it. The UFL would love any "star" power it could get and he would easily be that league's most marketable player. Especially since San Francisco has a UFL team. If he plays great (and he should) the 49er fans are going to be livid and there will be more pressure on the team to sign him.

Last, when Dallas is drafting 32nd overall next year and he somehow slipped to the bottom of the 1st round (he won't) most Cowboy fans would want him, bad attitude and all. And if you think Jerry wouldn't draft him, you haven't been paying attention.

I think Crabtree is going to be an excellent WR in the NFL but it would be a serious mistake to sit out a season. Crabtree needs to look at firing his agent and hiring someone else who has concerns about what is in Crabtree’s best interest.

My exact point of view on this matter. He needs to grow up and be a man and make some decisions for himself or get people around him who will steer him right until he can.

Since we think the same on this, will you please be my friend?

Just saw a scroll on ESPN that said "Crabtree is prepared to sit our season and re enter 2010 draft if he doesn't get fair maket value"

WOW. That would be insane..like the Niners need to be set back even more. I could see him keeping his word too. What a little diva!! He knows he was selected 10th overall right??

If he does re enter the 2010 draft I really hope Jerry doesn't have a crush on him..I hope we stay far away from him. I wouldn't even draft him in the 3rd. His value is going to go way down..we shall see.

What a bozo.

He's already 3rd on the depth chart. I keep hearing that 2nd year guy Josh Morgan is pretty amazing--though many knew of him last year. Issac Bruce is still decent and they picked up Brandon Jones in the off-season.

Why are so many WRs head cases? Jeez

We can be friends even if we disagree. :laugh1:

I think some of these agents fill these young players heads with BS like talking kids in to leaving school early even when they are not ready to move up to the NFL level or to hold out when the worst thing a rookie can do is hold out and miss an entire season with a new crop of studs waiting in the wings in next year’s draft.

Best thing Crabtree can do is fire his agent who appears to be more interested in getting his cut of the contract than doing what is in the best interest of the person he is representing

Is there any career on earth, other than professional athlete, that people will hate a guy for trying to make as much money as he possibly can?

Politicians?

lol not according to some people in this thread.

And that is the case with a lot of players in today's NFL, NBA, and MLB world.

Could he play in the UFL and still enter the draft next year?

Yes he could but would have to play for less than what he will end up getting as a high 1st rd pick. In the end if he misses the NFL season he will regret it because he is not going to get 1st rd type money next season.

Just like Eli Manning, John Elway...etc.etc.etc....

They were both drafted #1 and did not want to play for the teams they were drafted by. They were not demanding to be paid above where they were selected. Is there a selection before #1?

Apples & Oranges....they wanted to be with different teams....the other wants the Benjamins

Theres an equal chance Im In the 2010 draft.

If hes so confident make it incentive laden.

W/ all this DHB/Lobsterbush talk it would make sense that DHB thrives in Oak and Lobsterbush busts in SF.

I truly hope he's not that stupid, because im pretty sure that would be the breaking point of me rooting for him.

Besides, he would make 10x less there this year than he would just taking what the 49ers are offering him, and his stock would dramatically drop for next year, unless he became literally unstoppable in the UFL, and even then still wouldnt go top 10.

Hence, why I don't think he's stupid enough to go that route.

Empty threat. Unless his agent advances him money on future earnings, he won't want to live like a pauper for another year.
