Dak did not play well

Dak looked like a rookie making his first start in the NFL. The good thing is he looks like he belongs.

I hope Sunday also laid to rest the talk that we are better off somehow without Romo. Or that Dak is better prepared to led us this year than Romo.

That's why Dak's grade has got to be on the curve. Those 2 other meatbags have years of experience reading defenses in this league

If Dak performs this way 3 years from now then he'll be be graded straight up as our meatbag should. Sounds fair?

Fair. His game yesterday did little to make anyone believe he's the future QB ... as Cowboyland has been hollering about all week.

The next step is for him to improve his game. The dinks and dunks will land us an 0-16 season. Regardless of how much we can blame the WR's or the D ... top QB's make the plays to win the game.

Let's be clear on that. Yeah, there were some missed catches by the receivers, but there were also some really bad throws that were missed interceptions by the defense. Let's just focus on the facts. Of the 28 quarterbacks, Dak ranked...
  • 26th in passing efficiency
  • 28th in yards per attempt
  • 22nd in completion percentage
  • 21st in adjusted net yards per attempt
In no way did he play well in an absolute sense. He was poor yesterday. You can argue that he was OK for a rookie, but he did not play well yesterday. At all.
Yes, unload him and let's wait for the aged, fragile and overpaid Romo to lead us to the next 5 years.

The over reactions by fans here is so consistent, you could set your watch to it.

His first game and the "experts" here have decided he is merely a back-up.

Hilarious.

Show one quote saying that.

I know.

Crazy concept.

Hell, I will take a few of those to T-Will or Hanna.

I don't think I've ever seen Dez run slants consistently or any screens designed for him. Seems the only time we pass to him is on fly patterns.

The screen pass to Witten was the most confusing thing I have ever seen and yep I was drunk, but even being sober today makes it no less confusing

I was sober but I felt like I was drunk as I was watching it.

Dak didn't look transcendent but if Romo is in there JPP knocks him out for 8 weeks on a couple of those plays.

Yes it was really surprising that a fourth round draft pick didn't throw for over 300 yards and his first NFL game

He wasn't poor at all but your football knowledge apparently is.

LOL.....Ok troll.

Poor guy. Ill just put the little troll on ignore.

Thanks Captain Ignorant. If you're one of those that I'm talking about then stop complaining and go cheer for another team. You will not be missed.

A rookie 4th round pick.
Beasley dropped a TD pass.
Dez dropped a TD pass.
The running game couldn't get going.
Doug Free got destroyed in the second half.
The defense couldn't hold the Giants once inside the 20.
Two players couldn't step out of bounds inside a minute with 0 timeouts.
Shall I keep going?

Does anyone read? Stop including qualifiers in your evaluations if you're going to compare it to the OPs.

Let me know when you write the rules for this site. Until what I asked was fair. The OP provided meanless stats so asking him to describe what he expects is more than fair.

If you research those "experts" you'll find many who've had an anti-Dak agenda from the moment he was drafted... And even before that.

Outside of the dropped passes which were killer, the lousy running game (offensive line/Elliott/play calling) did the kid no favors. The Cowboys had like 6 yards rushing in the 4th quarter... A quarter in which they led part of the time. That's awful.

And that is the time when you take advantage of the defense being worn out from being on the field for most of the first half.
