A potential top 5 pick in the 2nd round isn't BPA? Huh?

You're leaving out the part about nerve damage in his knee that will cause him to miss all of next year, and possibly never play again. He's only a potential top 5 pick if that little injury never occurs.

Aren't high 2nd rounders graded as first rounders in the following draft? We spent a 1st rounder (in value) on a player we have to IR until 2017. Now I feel sicker...

May not be thrilled with the pic, but I've seen a lot of comparisons on the NFL network to Luke Keukley. If someone told you you could pick Luke Keukley this year but you had to wait an extra year from him to play, would you make that pic? I would.

IF is the word. Some doctors say he has 20% he'll ever play in the NFL. CBoys doctor says otherwise.

you have to be a special brand of stupid to think the doctor that performed his surgery withheld any info on his surgery from anyone. If that was found out that dude would be done.

Thank you. I was going to post the same thing. People just stop with the stupid notion that Dallas knows more than all the other teams. Smith and his agent would not allow positive information to be withheld from a single team. They would be pushing that info to all 32 teams. This was a ridiculous pick at 34. He could have been had much much later. I hope they do something to get another pick today because they just wasted this one. I'm happy for the kid but from a Dallas fans perspective, it sucks.

Yes he has to release info, it's probably a one page report with boxes to fill in and a few paragraphs about the surgery and prospects for recovery.

But come on, he saw the kids ligaments, his cartilage, all that mess in there (thats a medical term). There's a reason athletes have pro days and scouts actually travel to see them in person. You can't replace what you see with your own eyes backed by the hundreds of knees you've seen in surgery with a report issued to all 32 teams. I have to trust a renowned surgeon more and a cowboys FO a little less on this one, and I'm okay with that.
