At this moment, who in free agency?

I keep seeing this, but do people that say this know exactly who is available in free agency at the position?

It is not good. It can only be fortified if players like Manziel and Griffin get thrown overboard.

And even those fortifications are frightening.

It is important to note that Dallas doesn' t need to find Romo's replacement in 2016 only a backup. Romo is like 4 years from retirement. The two QB you mentioned are options for them. Too answer your Question if we know who is available here are some

Drew Stanton
Chad Henne
Ryan Fitzpatrick
Matt Moore
Matt Hasselbeck
Scott Tolzien
Sam Bradford

That is why he probably has a better chance in Dallas than anywhere else that has a functional offense.

He is the closest thing to Romo that you will find on the cheap.

I know that will rub some people the wrong way, but I am talking about on the field.

Players that go out of the script are a frustrating component for most NFL coaches to deal with.

Garrett has made his reputation off of Romo making him look good by accident.

100% agree with that

Don't want any part of Manziel, he's not an NFL quarterback and he's got serious drinking and behavior problems, and some of you people want that clown show in Dallas...Wake up!!

Disagree about the ability part.

I think he definetely has the ability to be a good player.

If any team is right for him we are. We have the structure in place to help keep him out of trouble until maturity takes over. He can learn and MATURE on the bench.

You're kidding, right?

Please don't acquire Manziel. And this is from one who wanted us to draft him.
He has a serious drinking problem, and he's really not a good quarterback. He can't read the entire field, and he thinks his feet will get him out of trouble.
He brings that style to Dallas, and he'll be more injured than Romo.

Like I said, who in free agency?

We tried three quarterbacks. With abject failure.

What traits do any of these have that will make them successful in our offense?

They are names.

So were Weeden and Cassel.

Part of the answer is that I think you're going to see this offense change somewhat.

If you pick him up for a low pick and then get him past his addiction problems you might be on to something but this can't be our post-Romo bet. It's way too risky!

Don't worry...it's Clayton making things up. Why actually get a well sourced story to figure out Dallas' feel on Manziel when you just say it and everybody will believe it's true?

If we trade for him and draft Lynch or Goff he is a 3rd stringer in 2016

Curious here, Namath was Broadway Joe, but Manziel has addiction issues. Why is it so wrong for a 22 yr old to be out partying during his off week? As long as he's putting in the work when he is supposed to then I could care less if he's out at the bars. Since when is it illegal to party at bars?

I can think of no greater QB for Manziel to learn from on what it takes to play the position than Romo.

I'm not eager to sign him because of his issues, but if Dallas decides to give him a chance for a late-round pick, I'd be OK with it. Of course, I don't think Cleveland is going to be looking to deal him for a late-rounder, if the Browns are considering it at all.

JM is not a championship caliber starting QB in the NFL and brings a circus with him

If Jerry brings him in, it just tells me that jerry has given up trying to win and just wants to hold out for the gratuitous if negative publicity

please let's not waste our time with this idiot

VERY much my first impression too now that this looks like it could happen. Here's the thing: IF and I know it's a big IF Romo is willing to mentor him (and JM is agreeable to being mentored) then MAYBE.....nah, bad idea. Look, he's a Texas kid and he's had problems staying out of trouble in OHIO for crying out loud. Anyone really think he comes back here and settles down to get serious? Yeah, me either.

So, that's my take. But there is only one guy's take that REALLY matters and we all know he's already admitted he was overruled and wanted to draft him high. Now that he can trade him for a 5th? Yeah, I think he'll probably do it. The media and all other teams fans hate JJ and think he's like Al Davis Jr. and god knows he isn't qualified to be a GM, BUT I don't really fault him for taking a flyer on guys with TALENT for the right price. Sure he's whiffed on guys like Demetrius Underwood and Alonzo Spellman, but he hit a grand slam with Charles Haley. Even now we got a solid back in McFadden pretty cheap. So....yeah, I think he'll do it if and only if Tony and JM will play nice with each other. FTR, I think they would and it could work for Dallas but it's a long shot for the reasons I listed above. Sorry so long!

I actually think John Clayton is dead on here. He's done in Cleveland. He's almost single handedly gotten Cleveland's HC canned. THey're sick of him and want to cut bait.

Drew Stanton (not going no where)
Chad Henne (will go were the money is)
Ryan Fitzpatrick (not leaving the Jets)
Matt Moore (not sure he is a improvement)
Matt Hasselbeck (OLD)
Scott Tolzien (WHO)
Sam Bradford (Not leaving Philly)
Johnny Manziel (worse then Brandon Weeden and Matt Cassel combined)

I'm looking at Nick Foles....was decent with Philly, and Bombed hard after the trade to the Rams......hopefully the Rams will release him and the Cowboys can work a deal out with him..... not a QB looking to start but heck of a lot better then any backup QB out there that thinks they are NFL starters....RG3, KAP, JF. Foles was just a bad fit for the Rams....alot of bad blood between Foles and the Rams
