You really can't use the if he played on this other team he would of won Super Bowls. Would Archie Manning would of won Super Bowls if he played with the Steelers? Or Emmitt Smith would of Sucked if he played for the Saints? Who knows.. Dallas had two really good teams in Romo's tenure 2007 and 2014 and for whatever reason they didn't get it done..

I'm doubting he is ROH worthy much less HOF. He is a good QB but he doesn't have a signature win or moment in the post season or big regular season game that ranks him above his peers

Fortunately Jerry will not use that ridiculous criteria when he puts Romo and Witten in the ROH for his 80th birthday celebration.

Oh I think Tony Romo is a wonderful QB.

He just isn't HOF caliber (yet).

Pure & simple Tony lacks playoff success.

As others have pointed out there are several other QB's from Tony's era who are going to get first nod if their careers ended today.

There's somewhat of a "glut" of superstar QB's who'll all be retiring about the same time and those with great passing stats and SB wins will go in before Tony will.

agree with this for the most part. Just wanted to note that last sentence where you say a "glut" of superstar qb's will be retiring soon..... it is within this timeframe that Tony Romo was top 10 stats so many times. I agree with you that he may not be HOF candidate just yet, but that has more to do with his surrounding talent and coaching staff. Give him time. One superbowl win and he should easily be in.

I do think he is ROH worthy. If you are just going by championships then there won't be many of this era's Cowboys going in. I think he and Witten go in.

If he wins a SB then I think he should go in.

Ok Goose

Why did you write this story in 2010

Gosselin: Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo among all-time elite
http://sportsday.***BANNED-URL***/d...07-Gosselin-Cowboys-quarterback-Tony-Romo-938

I cannot stand Gosselin ........ he is the epitome of a bandwagon fan.

I agree that he isn't currently hall of fame worthy.

Sure he has had some nice regular season stats but he needs much more post season success before he gets labeled a hall of famer.

I absolutely love this, watching feelings getting hurt all over the place.

Blame it on click bait. Blame it on the writer, of which I listen to daily on 103.3 FM on my way home. He is sensible and quite knowledgeable. And damn funny.

Romo is a fan favorite. I get it.

But here is the rub. There are fans here that actually think his "stats" means he is better than Aikman was. Catch up stats made when your team is constantly behind are meaningless in an argument like this. Jimmy Johnson has said it that Aikman could have posted Marino-like stats, but sacrificed for the game plan.

And this leads right into the reason why 2014 was successful. Romo didn't need to pass as much because of offensive BALANCE,

I love me some Romo. But the article was well supported.

However, those who are angry or disgusted over this, and calling him a mediot, or claiming click bait, or whatever excuse other than debating against his position, are just sad little pandas.

If you cannot succinctly debate the points, and resorts to name calling, then perhaps you should go find your safe place.

Well, I read right here on this board that he's better than Troy Aikman, so he should get in to the HOF

OH, and don't look now, but his storyline hasn't ended, but his stats are ALREADY in line for being acknowledged as being top shelf. Now, resume the position...

Target, cease fire....but wait, that's not the word from the burn barrel.

Now, the entire team needs to get better in the playoffs...and players like Gregory, who loves the social warm fuzzies around smoking pot, are why Tony doesn't have a trophy of his own. The team needs to get there again. There are only so many injuries a single player can endure to reach the goal...the pain and sacrifice has to be shared. Lol

I truly do love it when a mediot is consistent with the utter and complete destruction of his credibility. Media members like JJT, make it difficult because from time to time I'll read something from him just because ever now and then he put's out something worthy of reading. I don't recall the last time Goose was listen or read-worthy...so thank you Goose; you have made planning my Cowboys-reading-time so much easier.

STOP MAKING SENSE. The problem with these type of writers is that they know the Cowboys are polarizing. We see it on here as well. People know that that occasionally someone will strike a nerve with a topic and immature behavior and opinions pop up. Then I usually hit send and others get to read it! LOL

Did this article even need to be written? Did I miss a significant number of people touting Romo for the HOF? Of course is is not a HOF QB right now. Add a Super Bowl win to his numbers and I think the argument turns 180 degrees. It would be hard to make the case he doesn't belong if he gets that Super Bowl.

Well it is called "Hall of FAME " so really you just need to be famous, not great or a champion.
And Tony is the most well known QB in the world. People in russia know who Tony Romo is.

It isnt called the hall of Champions, or SB Champions, it is FAME. And usually they have to have some
outstanding stats.

But it all depends on who does the voting, and good deserving players will always be left out
because their is a limited amount of space and funds for adding players.

I said before, what is needed is a virtual HOF, then all the good players could be put in, at almost no
cost and unlimited space.

To me the whole HOF thing is like winning a oscar or emmy, it doesnt mean much, it is nice to win one,
but is really meaningless.

If I were a writer for a newspaper site in this age, I would do the exact same thing.

I always thought if we had the team set up with a great running game Tony would be more successful. He might already be HOF worthy. Look what he did in 2014. But you can't go by what if. You can only go by what is. And the only thing he can control is the future. Unfortunately I think time is running out for him to win a title. Hopefully he can do it this year.

Well if that's the case why are players like Martin, Waters, Too Tall, Pearson, Walls and numerous others not in the hall of Fame when they went to 5 superbowls? Why is Marino in with 0 championships? Why isn't Moose and Woodson not in with 3 championships? Why did it take Haley so long to get in with 5?

anyone asking why Marino is in the HOF should be banned from ever talking about football again.
