It would seem. To what end? "You know they can play" . I ask again...against who? The old nfce? 8-9 loser Bucs? They have some talent . Obviously more on the offensive side

The energy expended in real games is different than what they get in practice. Those things can show up as drops and other mistakes. As someone else stated, if a team who's largely dominated the past 7 years can trot out MEGASTARs & multiple time champions for preseason work, really not any valid excuses for any other teams.Didn't mean effort in the way you are taking it. I think timing, communication, etc., all improve with practice.
Last year, Lamb had his worst game dropping the ball in the opener after not playing in the preseason. This year, Pickens had a bad game dropping the ball. I think those are bugs you get out of the way under the lights when you play in the preseason. Let's say you have a drop on the first possession of a preseason game. That can cause you to examine yourself to make sure you are not just assuming the catch. It can cause you to spend more time on the JUGS machine, etc.
I agree. To me, not playing in the preseason needs to be earned. No-Schott withheld his starters last year and they failed in the first game. That alone should have been reason to get them some playing time. The energy expended in real games is different than what they get in practice. Those things can show up as drops and other mistakes. Unless you watched our first game. Slept through it??It's a 17 game season. .Nothing wrong with not playing in the pre season.
Lol, I never miss a game. They have 16 more. 11 and 6 will still win the division and 9 and 8 will probably make the playoffs. It's Thursday and you guys are still crying.Unless you watched our first game. Slept through it??
It didn't affect the Giants and a number of other teams who held out their players in triple games preseason. I think it also comes down to new coaches and inexperienced players as well. I think how we lost was worse than losing on the road against the Giants.3 preseason games. If the D starters had just played just 1 series in each game, this complete D breakdown would not have happened.
A divisional game loss might matter more to you later. It's wild some fans have become comfortable with average football.Lol, I never miss a game. They have 16 more. 11 and 6 will still win the division and 9 and 8 will probably make the playoffs. It's Thursday and you guys are still crying.
What blueprint? The Patriots and Brady were doing this well before Mahomes and Reid. Brady played in every pre-season. He posted about this, calling out teams and players not playing preseason games.Preseason is an excuse for them not being on their game but I do notice Chiefs year in and out play the starters including Mahomes. I’d follow that blueprint whether it works or not. Certainly wouldn’t follow Cowboys.
It is what it is and it is a 17 game season which is way too much.A divisional game loss might matter more to you later. It's wild some fans have become comfortable with average football.
I don’t care who started it I’m just saying id rather copy what winning teams do than loser teams. Pats or whoever. I mean I remember when everyone played starters not even that long ago including the Cowboys. Hell Romo got hurt in preseason so it’s not like they haven’t done it. I’d take the risk. What blueprint? You cannot convince me that MORE series played by a group isn't beneficial. I'd take the risk myself. They looked completely lost.I don’t care who started it I’m just saying id rather copy what winning teams do than loser teams. Pats or whoever. Yeah I admit I initially didn’t think it matters but you can’t ignore we start every year a step behind whoever we face. You cannot convince me that MORE series played by a group isn't beneficial. I'd take the risk myself. They looked completely lost.
Crying? Man, you are one expert at misdiagnosing. Have you always been this inept? Crying? Really, that's what you got? Just because you are unable to comprehend trying to understand what went wrong, there's no reason to expect others to be as bad at it.Lol, I never miss a game. They have 16 more. 11 and 6 will still win the division and 9 and 8 will probably make the playoffs. It's Thursday and you guys are still crying.
Yup. We've played this way the first couple games every year for a while now.Yeah I admit I initially didn’t think it matters but you can’t ignore we start every year a step behind whoever we face.
Possibly. It didn't affect the Giants and a number of other teams who held out their players in triple games preseason. I think it also comes down to new coaches and inexperienced players as well. I think how we lost was worse than losing on the road against the Giants.
Could be a super gray thing, maybe some teams are affected differently. Other things factor in as well. Roster, staff. etc...Yeah I admit I initially didn’t think it matters but you can’t ignore we start every year a step behind whoever we face.
Agreed. In this case, we had a pile of new starters on D who desperately needed some snaps. We did not give them those snaps, and this was the predictable outcome.Could be a super gray thing, maybe some teams are affected differently. Other things factor in as well. Roster, staff. etc...
All I know is Dallas looked sluggish. Like they haven't played at game speed in awhile.
And they certainly looked like they needed snaps.Agreed. In this case, we had a pile of new starters on D who desperately needed some snaps. We did not give them those snaps, and this was the predictable outcome.
Possibly.
People here have been saying the Giants starters played some in preseason. You are claiming they didn't. Which is it?
According to this, both Wentz and Dart played preseason game 2. I am game by game destroying the narrative that other teams do not play starters. It didn't affect the Giants and a number of other teams who held out their players in triple games preseason. I think it also comes down to new coaches and inexperienced players as well. I think how we lost was worse than losing on the road against the Giants.
Cowboys edge rusher Donovan Ezeiruaku brings up the preseason when talking about the communication breakdowns: “Communication is two-way right. It’s giving and receiving. That’s just something we’ve got to tighten up. You know things are a little different when things are flying around on Sunday night as opposed to it being in practice or camp. First week is never clean. There are obviously going to be mistakes. I, mean, during the preseason, a lot of the starters didn’t really play.”
