I think it is a bigger problem than not playing in preseason. I am a proponent of playing the starters for at least a quarter or two in preseason, but the Giants didn't look as confused as Dallas. I think the problem is the way they practice. Something is not right there. Remember the old expression, you p lay the way you practice?

The Giants didn't look confused because they ran basic as crap plays and found out quickly the Cowboys couldn't stop it. So they just kept on doing it.

3 preseason games. If the D starters had just played just 1 series in each game, this complete D breakdown would not have happened.

Well, it might have because what's shown in the preseason is a lot different than what is shown in the regular season, but at least we'd know that it wasn't because they didn't put in the preseason effort.

What ? Are you kidding . The Giants physically man handled the Cowboys at point of attack . Overshown could have played the entire preseason and still would not have handled the run game .

And sealing the Edge is one of last years # 2 pick out of BC or this years # 1 pick out of UCF but Dart ran the edge anytime it was dialed up . Nagy had no respect for the D edge contain . I’m not buying this alibi Eze pedaling

You're right but EZE has a valid point. 8 or 9 guys could be on the same page but if one or two screw up it can lead to a big play by the offense. The fact the Cowboys are so stout up the middle with Quinnen and Clark means teams are going to keep attacking the edges until this gets cleaned up.

Didn't mean effort in the way you are taking it. I think timing, communication, etc., all improve with practice.

Last year, Lamb had his worst game dropping the ball in the opener after not playing in the preseason. This year, Pickens had a bad game dropping the ball. I think those are bugs you get out of the way under the lights when you play in the preseason. Let's say you have a drop on the first possession of a preseason game. That can cause you to examine yourself to make sure you are not just assuming the catch. It can cause you to spend more time on the JUGS machine, etc.

OMG I’ve been saying this for years. stop not playing the starters in preseason. going back to last few years of garrett, Jones were like practice is enough, we don’t want them injured. BS they need in game time, so do the coaches on adjustments. If i was the coach id play them 1st Quarter min every game.

Yes...not every team wins on Sunday...preseason or not. Not disputing that.

That’s just something we’ve got to tighten up. You know things are a little different when things are flying around on Sunday night as opposed to it being in practice or camp.
