Nah, not at all Hos. I'm a Favre fan. I love seeing him continue to play. I just hate the way he goes about it. But I've never had a problem with the guy continuing to play. My son will be THRILLED by this. Favre is his favorite player ever. Can't wait to get home from work tonight and tell him.
 
By the way, I remember some ESPN NFL reporter -- I think it was Clayton but maybe someone else -- saying just a couple of weeks ago that the reason Fav-ruh decided not to come back was that he just didn't feel right playing against his old team and didn't want to upset his fans and his legacy back in Green Bay by playing for their biggest rival. Said maybe he'd play somewhere else later in the season if a team got an injury or something, but he just had too many emotions to do it Minnesota.

Thing is, as much as the Vikings need a stable QB to get the talented team to the playoffs, which most think that Favre can do that. I believe he also can cost them a playoff spot, or a loss in the playoffs.

The drama queen is, and has been washed up for some time. He'll throw a ton of ints and I'll laugh about every single one of them.

They won't win a playoff game with him, even if they do get to them.

You are not alone. If someone is willing to pay him then he should play. I really don't understand all of the anguish.
 
Enough is enough. I hope he ends up in a full body cast. He has the right to earn a living, but he dishonors himself when he jerks people around for years on end, staging one phony retirement ceremony after another like some kind of attention-starved media *****. There's "indecisive," and then there's being a good old fashioned *******, and you're an ******* Brett.
 
I'm actually going to enjoy all the pissing and moaning from Packer fans now since he returned and went to Minny. It will be hilarious. I'm going to laugh all the way through this season about this and I'd love for him to get them into the playoffs and eventually wind up in Dallas and lose to us. That would be pretty great to me. Especially if he winds up bouncing the Packers out of the playoffs along the way cause that would just be hilarious.

Why would teams change from doing that? Favre was horrendous at the end of last year, just as he was at the end of the previous season.

Combining Petersons propensity to fumble with Captain Turnover himself is a good recipe for a sucky offense.
 
Tim Macmahon reported on his Cowboys chat that he signed for 1 yr 12 million. I guess Favre does this all over again next year.

I don't disagree with you that he could have handled things better ..

Look at it like this though .. if you announced your retirement in the past and the media left you alone and what you really want is more time to think about your decision, why not do the same again?

There was a lot to this decision .. I mean think about everything .. he had to consider his health .. he had to consider whether or not he wanted to spend a year in the cold north yet again .. he had to consider the impact on his god-like status among Packers fans and what damage would be done to his reputation by playing for one of their bitter rivals .. he had to also consider would he enjoy it and still be happy with his decision throughout the season.

If I had to choose between a guy who says he's retired only to change his mind versus a guy who says he'll play and later changes his mind, I'll take the first guy every time.

All of that being said, I'll definitely agree with you that overall it could have been handled better and some of that may be Favre's fault or it may be his agent's fault. However, I suspect that Favre probably has a couple of reporters who he became friends with over the years who are using that connection to obtain sound bytes or tidbits of information and while small in nature, are used as the basis for long articles and large print headlines which leads into non-stop radio rants especially on slow news days.

I am numb to it. I don't think he's the missing piece to the Vikings puzzle any more than he was a solution for the Jets. Of course, he's better than what they have but they still shouldn't be crowned because they have him on board. I will admit though it would be nice if the Vikings visited our new stadium and we could render him 0-forever against us in Dallas.

Well, the Vikings are better than the Jets were when he joined them last year. The Jets were only expected to be about a .500 team at best before Favre came in. Give the guy credit, he played pretty well until he injured his shoulder, and no one even knew about the injury until the last couple games.

I don't hate Favre, I just think he is really crushing his legacy in the eyes of Packers fans, where he is still the king. They will have no choice but to root against him.

As far as the Vikings go, the only weakness they had was QB. An awesome defense, superior running game, and pretty good receivers. This instantly makes the Vikings the best team in the NFC, on paper. He can basically drive the bus.
