Fisher: Speculating Beasley deal - 4 yr/13mil agreement reached Post #10

So where does this stack up with other 3rd WRs in the league?

I'm a fan of Beasley. I realize he's limited as a Keebler Elf, but the guy makes plays and is way more durable than he has a right to be.

Every offense needs that pesky gnat defenses can't seem to swat because they are paying too much attention to the other players on the field.

I think Beasley is more valuable than his stats indicate he is worth. I wanted to keep him around and believed that he was worth more than the veteran minimum to keep him. I thought that we would have been signed him for less than that, but I also believe that it will still turn out to be a good contract for us. I think it is much like Scandrick's extension, which we got right. If we had only extended Murray a year sooner like I wanted us to, we would really be in tall cotton.

Not sure why we are bringing up stuff from a few years back. The guy is playing well and contributing.

I would be interested to see how much more he can do. Can he be Julian Edelman? I would not say he can't. I'd be in favor of increasing his role.

He got absolutely leveled late last season. I can't remember the game. But he got his head almost taken off on a reception. He just popped right back up and kept playing. He was a very unique find for the Cowboys.

Yeah, I don't really know where this stands with the 3rd WRs in the league but I do know I'm all for more years of Beasley in this offense.

Chuck it down, dawg.

Against the Lions? Also saw that atrocious facemask live @ Fedex field. He gets up every time though.

well put.... and you still got in your shot
perfect RS post.

I think it might have been. Romo led him into a kill shot and I don't know how Beasley didn't walk away with a concussion.

I like Beasley.

Maybe he should get some medical attention for that vomiting issue he has.

Dez will get his, this year... Franchising him was a way of Dallas protecting themselves. Something tells me that he will go into the season with a new contract.

I'm definitely good with this deal. I like Cole and I think he's a very nice piece to our offense.

Every report I heard said he lost heart. But depression will do that.

I'll post some links later on, but there were multiple sources that said he went home, talked with his family, and got back on his medication and then returned to Dallas.

However, he didn't have much confidence in TC when he first got here which I'm sure triggered some things. The fact that he's developed the way he has after his confidence level was down and the bout with depression is impressive, a lot of players (Claiborne comes to mind) give up. Kudos to Beasley.

You think Claiborne gave up?

his ability to break tackles has suprised me. his 6.8 YAC per reception is one of the highest in the league for receivers.

He can't keep taking those hits. Welker and Edelman are already dealing with multiple concussions. They are elusive, but when they do get hit it is usually bad news.

Our prediction here has been: Dallas offering a $1.5 million signing bonus with a minimum base salary for ’15 and $1 million for 2016.

"I think,'' Jones said, "Cole is motivated to do it because if he doesn't get it done he'll have to play out the year with probably a tender and then won't be able to see free agency until next year. So, hopefully he's motivated to do it. Certainly we're motivated to do it and would like to lock him up.''

WAIT and you only offered Murray a 4 yr. 16 million deal. GTFOH

From what I've read, his confidence level has been down as well. The difference between Claiborne and Beasley, Claiborne left after being told Scandrick would replace him in anger and a diva-like manner; Beasley at least had a better excuse.

But I will say, Claiborne's injury didn't give him a chance to rebound after the switch.

One of the things he's great at is immediately turning it up the field....and almost at full speed right away. That alone will get you a lot of YAC.
