Greg Hardy unlikely to face any ban

Completely understand and he might not be on the Cowboys' free agent board because of it. But if he has paid a penance by sitting out all last year, and there is evidence that this was an isolated (albeit) brutal incident, I'd be willing to take a chance that he is reformed. So long as we can get out of the contract.

Unless he's taking anger management classes or is in some therapy or has repented and turned to Jesus, I don't know how reformed he is.

I would love to have someone of hardys talents to add much needed superstar pass rush talent to our DLine.

But it's tough to look at the guy knowing he lacks any kind morals of what a real man is

He didn't do anything except date a crazy woman. He showed restraint and called the police himself to have her removed from his apartment. She showed no injuries, hard to believe about a 275 lb man and a woman.

The earlier trial being "vacated" just means that he appealed. When you appeal the earlier trial is "vacated." Charges during the appeal were then dropped ONLY because the victim did not report, not because of any "conflicts." Hardys 911 calls and any "inconsistency" the victim had were evaluated by the first judge, who gave a guilty verdict. The prosecutor speculated the victim reached an out of court settlement...sure it hasnt been proven...and witnesses for mob bosses dont testify because the mob boss isnt guilty...RIGHT

How exactly do you know he would have been found guilty in a jury trial? Many domestic violence cases are tried and people are convicted even without the victim testifying. If the DA had evidence other than her testimony they would not have dropped the case. Which means other witnesses, pictures, etc. If a NFL DE slams a 130 lb women into a tub do you not think she would have brusing or would that not fit your agenda? Clearly she was cooperative with police during the initial phase. Wouldn't there be pictures of injuries if any occured? The man had a right to a be tried by his peers and the case was dropped due to a weak case at best.Everything isn't black and white. Just because she said he did something doesn't make it true.

if the legal system has moved on from him who am i to continue to pass judgement on him anymore

Him and AP as offseaon additions along with whoever we draft would be a great surge for the '15season

If you google the articles all of that (and more) is out there. I got interested in this because the charges were so serious and ended up reading a bunch of the articles on it. If you have the time and read what is already out there, I think you will reach the same conclusions.

Yeah if I had the time to Google Hardy I'd probably be doing something else. That's why I peek into a football forum for answers. But thanks for your info. I doubt we have the money to get a Hardy but it sure would be a boost to our pass rush. Hardy on one side, Lawrence on the other with Mincey and maybe another draft pick as back up, man that sounds amazing...

Beat up his GF, in the process throwing her against a bathtub and then onto a bed of assault rifles, choking her and telling her he was going to kill her, all within the context of a relationship where he controlled her every move because he was paying for her rent.

And you seen the video of him doing these things?

Wow. Feel like I need a degree in criminal law to read this thread. How much will he cost the FOOTBALL TEAM?

I could see the controversy costing him a little, maybe 5/50m with 20m guaranteed

Our very own Erik Williams had to deal with false allegations.

Yes, IIRC, one of those was resolved because he had video tape.

It's common practice for women to try to manipulate Pro Athletes to get something from them. The more media attention that the subject of Domestic Violence receives, the more it will be used as a threat by some women to get their way.

We have not seen any proof that he did anything, have we?

He's probably the only player Ive ever not wanted to play on the cowboys for character reasons. What he did (and was found guilty of doing) was really messed up.

When was he found guilty? Yes, he was ruled guilty by a judge, which is equivalent to an indictment in other states. He then took the next step of insisting on a jury trial (ya know kinda like the one guaranteed under our Constitution) and the charges were dismissed. The various stories that came out about this case look very much like someone trying to extort a rich football player. I do not know for sure what happened, but to outright say he was found guilty under our justice system is incorrect.

He's the one guy that I would rework Romo and Tyron Smith's deals to get.

Kick the door in.

I'm opposed to reworking those 2 deals. But if it meant we could get Hardy, go for it. He can make the other 10 players on defense better.

Now the NFL is trying to claim he was never punished! Those morons continue to dig this embarrassing hole of incompetence deeper and deeper...

This is how I feel too.

It was a cash grab, plain and simple. I've looked high and low for signs of this 'purported abuse' and wasn't able to find a shred of evidence. And then when news of her conflicting stories came out, the case was dropped.

But she got a nice ski vacation and shopping trip out of the deal, so there's that...

LOL, while what you say may be true, it's laughable to suggest there wasn't a shred of evidence of "this purported abuse" since you looked high and low. A judge found him guilty and while you can suggest a female judge may be biased, there was certainly some evidence presented in the courtroom besides her word.

Like what? The girl herself testified that she didn't have any injuries. What was the evidence other than her testimony?

Before you try to get high and mighty, maybe you should see for yourself. I researched as best I could to find evidence. A hospital visit, photos, whatever evidence beyond the he said, she said nonsense and couldn't find any. If you would care to give it a try, I would be open to whatever you find.
