That's not nearly as good approaching an eye sore as above, than plain old soap.

Change is not seemless as schemes change and players have to walk through that with changed players as well.

Ridiculous is not discussing proven problems over the course of the NFL. Try explaining some of the actually real examples of failures in just such circumstance.

I put cherries in my martini, not as an excuse to cherry pick and leave things on one's own attitude.

You'd make a fine coach for Jerry some day.. you have all the qualities he's looking for. I'm not cherry picking anything. Both coordinators in Philly have been coordinators before and have had the opportunities to handle different situations. The Garrett hire was a typical Jerry move and his intentions were crystal clear from day one.. which then turned into a 13 year experiment, which then turned into a guy who can't find a coaching job in the NFL.

 So, what are your employment requirements, Ace?

A resume Ace. If I'm looking for an offensive coordinator, then it will be a guy who has had success doing that elsewhere under other coaches. It will be a guy who has climbed the ladder and has experience running an offense not just playing in one... Plus Jerry didn't even look for anyone else, ran out and signed him right away before the HC with no other interviews at all lined up. Garrett was a straight up nepotism hire meeting no coaching prerequisites at all.

Uh, been paying attention to now...before complaining?

Garrett was an Offensive Coordinator being interviewed multiple times for a Head Coaching job, and Jerry had to make an inseason decision due to status of Wade Phillips that very season.

Actually, Jerry Jones has a deep rooted loyalty for members of his team.

He was hired by the Cowboys in an unspecified role? LOL top secret! it's been well proven over time that it was a stupid hire and the owner was making one poor decision after another back in 2007. 2 year QB coach is not a real resume but stick to your guns.

Loyalty.. that's a laugh. It's one thing to be loyal if there's a guy worthy of consideration, but it's just stupidity when they're not.

...At the same time, though, the Cowboys have been right on the money over the years with some big decisions.

For example, letting Xavier Woods walk in 2021 and signing Jayron Kearse and Malik Hooker as part of an overdue overhaul at safety looks brilliant in hindsight. Another move Dallas got right? Allowing Connor Williams to sign with the highest bidder last offseason. While Williams delivered quality guard play for the Cowboys, he morphed into a high-level center in 2022 with the Dolphins. After a breakout season, Williams is holding out of Dolphins mandatory minicamp purportedly in search of a new contract.

As far as the center position is concerned, Tyler Biadasz is arguably the most overlooked player on the entire roster. The former fourth-round pick was named as a Pro Bowl alternate last year and has started 33 of a possible 34 regular season games at center spanning the last two seasons. Biadasz enters the final year of his rookie deal in 2023. It's unclear if Dallas plans to re-sign him, but he'll likely make that decision for them if he turns in another strong season.

It's impossible to say Williams would be causing a similar distraction if he re-signed with the Cowboys, but it's pretty clear Dallas saved significant money -- and avoided a real offseason headache -- by letting him walk last year.In that scenario, it stands to reason he'll cost significantly less than Williams, who reportedly is seeking to become a top-five center in the league in terms of annual salary. That would put Williams in the $12-14 million range per year. On his current terms ($7.017 million), he's the NFL's seventh-highest-paid center...

In his fourth season as Dallas Cowboys' Head Coach, Mike McCarthy is looking to do something no one has done before. Win a Super Bowl as head coach for two different teams.

In the previous 57 Super Bowls played, only seven head coaches have even managed to lead two different teams to the championship game.

McCarthy can make it the Elite Eight if he can guide the Cowboys to the Super Bowl in his fourth year at the helm. A victory in Las Vegas on Feb. 11, 2024, and he would be the first to win two titles with two franchises.

To add another running back or not: (Cook)

Even without Ezekiel Elliott on their roster, the Cowboys are currently seventh in the NFL in running back spending for 2023. They've allocated $13.9 million to the position, which only trails teams with true bell-cow backs like Tennessee, Cleveland and the New York Giants. That's what happens when you franchise tag Tony Pollard to the tune of $10.1 million.

The Cowboys have that in Pollard, who is two years younger than Cook, has 772 fewer touches on his odometer and is expected to be fully healthy for training camp. One of the benefits of Pollard often seeing reduced work behind Elliott these last few years is that he is primed to carry a larger load in his first real opportunity as the starter.

  • Cowboys' Tyron Smith: Healthy again

    Rotowire 4 HRS AGO
Smith returned to practice last week after recovering from a knee injury, Patrik Walker of the Cowboys' official site reports.
Smith was lining up as the team's starting left tackle at minicamp despite having receiver knee surgery earlier in the offseason. The 32-year-old missed the first 13 games last year before returning to action and will look to once again protect Dak Prescott's blindside during the 2023 campaign.

  • Cowboys' Stephon Gilmore: Looking healthy this spring

    Rotowire 9 HRS AGO
Gilmore has been a regular participant in spring practices, Layten Praytor of DallasCowboys.com reports.
The Cowboystraded for Gilmore in March after his rebound season with the Colts last year. If he can do it again in his age-32/33 season ahead, Dallas will have one of the best CB duos in the league between Gilmore and Trevon Diggs. There doesn't seem to have been any lingering issue with the wrist injury that prevented Gilmore from playing Week 18 last year.

Best Moves

Dallas Cowboys

Acquired Brandin Cooks

Not having Amari Cooper did affect the Cowboys offense a bit last year, so Dallas decided to correct the lack of playmaking wide receivers by trading a 2023 firth-round pick and a 2024 sixth-round pick. Dallas didn't give up much to acquire a player of Cooks' talent, a viable No. 2 option to CeeDee Lamb for 2023.

Having Lamb, Cooks, and Michael Gallup gives the Cowboys an excellent wide receiver trio, a group that should eliminate Dak Prescott's unusual turnover-prone season from last year. Cooks makes the Cowboys offense better, as Dallas will have a different look in the passing game with no Dalton Schultz in the fold.

The Dallas Cowboys haven't advanced past the Divisional round of the NFL Playoffs since their last Super Bowl appearance in 1995.

It has become a running joke on social media, with prominent talking heads like Stephen A. Smith leading the charge.

The desperation rises with each passing season that ends in some sort of heartbreak.

There has to be more to it. Could the Cowboys actually be suffering from some sort of curse?...

The only "curse" is Jerry & Son playing fantasy football front office. They managed one last SB with Jimmy's leftovers. It has been their handiwork ever since.

I doubt the Cowboys limited success has anything to do with Jerry's refusal to put Jimmy in the Ring of Honor. Jimmy got what he wanted when he left the team and Jerry is richer than he's ever been, despite the team's somewhat limited success. However, Jerry's refusal to put Jimmy into the Ring of Honor apparently did no favors for his popularity with the team's fans. I do believe the team would benefit with an impowered GM, though.

Since Jimmy got the freedom he craved by his own admission when he left the team, Jerry would have been the GM either way and that was the only curse involved. I also believe the Cowboys would have had the same destiny in store with or without Jimmy in the Ring of Honor today. Poor management is mainly Jerry's and Stephen's responsibility today and that's the only curse involved for the Cowboys.

Only a fool would have thought we were a better team than the Niners the last two years. Now maybe we can make an excuse for two years ago as the Niners truly showed us who was boss. Last year on the road if some thought the Cowboys were going to win, thats on them.

Niners are the better team. Both games were an easy call we would lose. Especially this year and certainly the moment Pollard went down it was over.

Not really, I don't believe in this country that we are built to fail at any undertaking in sport. That or an individual removes himself, from a fan or rational about that.
