How bad are we going to be?

6-10

That's my lowest prediction in at least a decade. I'm generally fairly optimistic.

But ... whatever ... don't sweat the small stuff.

This pretty well is where I'm at. The defense is a mess with limited potential to improve. The offense is talented but has a tendency to stop itself with either penalties or turnovers.
Six wins is the high mark for me, not sure if we get there .

He won't be getting my money.

And that's really all that I can control.

I HALF TRIED THAT. IT IS LIKE SPITTIN IN THE OCEAN. No, wait, it is like taking a teaspoon of ocean water and thinking you can drain it dry.
To many mans and womans will buy tickets no matter how stinkin the team is. It is called loyalty. I call it madness. Stupidity, even. But yet I will be glued to the TV unless Ms. Busty distracts me with that way she half.
Boycotts dont work. If Romo signs autographs the day after he loses another playoff game the line will be out the door just the same!

6-9 wins IMO.

I think the defense has a chance to improve from last year, but I'm not expecting much, mainly because of our front 7. The injury to Lawrence really hurts. Melton, Spencer and McClain have a lot to prove after missing the preseason.

The offense and special teams will have to carry the team. The OL has to give Romo a clean pocket, if not, 6 wins will be hard to achieve.

Funny how the doom & gloomers say we lost our 3 best defenders which I'm assuming includes Ware, but at the end of last season were saying Ware's lost it, he's done, let him go. So losing a guy that is supposedly done is going to make the defense worse? o_O
And for the record: I say 10-6.

People that think we lost something when we lost Ware overvalue his contribution and I think his production can be replaced.

Ware is clearly on the decline, but even a declining Ware is better than what we currently have on D.

So we lost Ware and Hatcher, and the guys brought in to replace them haven't been able to play a down in the preseason. That is scary.

Not to mention a suspended Scandrick, Lee out for the season, Mo Claiborne who can't stay healthy, Spencer is a huge question mark and our non-existent depth along the OL, and things get a bit scary.

To top it off, the last 6 games of the schedule, as usual, is a nightmare. 4/6 on the road, 2 games in 5 days, etc..

Anything is possible, but we need things to go our way for once. The defense needs to get healthy and stay that way, and Lawrence/Melton/R. McClain need to make a big impact. The OL has to protect Romo at all costs.

A man can only do what he can do.

I choose not to financially support a man I don't respect and a product I feel is unworthy of my money.

Also "funny" how the sunshine & flowers group think the team will get better with NOTHING in the way of facts to back that up...

We are going to be like 75% of the NFL teams and be somewhere between 6 -10 and 10 - 6 depending on whether the breaks and injuries go for us or against again. This was Tagliabue's vision of parity in the NFL and the league has implemented that vision for fun and profit - but mostly profit.

I'll toss out some facts -

The vast majority of improvement teams see is from young players maturing the way we saw Leary perform last year. We are likely to get that from TWill, Wilcox, Escobar, Dunbar, Fred, Crawford and Hanna.

We have injured vets like Spencer and Melton that have been All Pro's in the past and should contribute at least a half season to the team.

Claiborne and McClain have 1st round talent and could potentially play well.

We added an OG in Martin that looks like a future All Pro.

Sincerely,

Buttercup Daffodil.

Let's just put some facts on it:

- T.McClain has had zero snaps in the preseason and just about all of training camp. But he's supposed to be better than Hayden.
- Claiborne hasn't played a preseason game either, and is going to be dealing with some pain that will require a pain blocker in the shoulder Week 1.
- Melton also hasn't gotten any preseason snaps, despite advocating for some playing time all throughout preseason.
- Carr has had limited snaps as well, after missing most of camp too. Hard to fault him though, but the missed time hurts his preparation.
- Hayden has gotten worse from last season.
- Coleman and Bishop can't hold up against the run even against the backups
- We have no one that can rush the passer from the RE spot.
- Stephen and Jerry have been on record saying that they will be looking at the waiver wire for help.

I could keep going, but you know I don't want to be too negative.

So these are "facts" now?

We have injured vets like Spencer and Melton that have been All Pro's in the past and should contribute at least a half season to the team.

And this is somehow good news? That we "should" get contributions for at least half a season? Do you see how low this bar is?

Claiborne and McClain have 1st round talent and could potentially play well.

Or they could be what they have been...

We added an OG in Martin that looks like a future All Pro.

Won't argue that, but my comments are about the dumpster fire defense in particular.

Sincerely,

Buttercup Daffodil.

I like the signature, nice touch.

4-12. I have this pegged as a disaster year. Not because I don't believe in the team or want them to win, but I have had this gut feeling since Sean Lee went down.
