I love how you're an expert on Jerry speak and I know all about the media interpretations. Riddle me this Batman, why are Linehan and Marinelli giving Jason Garrett so much credit since he apparently according to your interpretation of Jerry speak does nothing?

This ought to be a hoot.

Oh really, Jerry Speak? Keep Spinning...

I especially loves Jerry Jones statement of Garrett.

“He has a high tolerance for ambiguity"....

You do realize that Jerry said this specifically when they hired Linehan in January Februrary when talking in the context of the shift between Linehan and Garrett, the former allows them to utilize the talents of specific players and him going to run the ball. You do know that this was already a priority and Jerry made the hire right? There is a lot of assumptions in the ESPN article that this is what Jason wanted, after the season already started and what Linehan was doing.

Hahaha my link had a DIRECT QUOTE FROM LINEHAN. But it didn't fit your agenda so it's irrelevant?

And to you, it's impossible that Jerry said that because he knew that's what his head coach was thinking, right? Nah, why would the owner/GM and head coach communicate and be on the same page? That's not how football works!

If Jerry said it then that means ONLY JERRY thought it! AND that necessarily means that Jason wasn't of the same mindset!

Boy, the mental gymnastics some will perform to try and avoid being wrong on the internet.

You quoted him from during the season when Linehan was already hired and running the ball well with Linehan remembering Garrett saying they would run the ball well. Where is the proof that it was Garrett that told him to do that, especially after Garrett kept abandoning running the ball last year when he took over for Callahan and when he had control of the offense for years?

Hahaha so you want proof other than Linehan telling you that that's EXACTLY what Garrett told him?

Hang on, let me upload my secret recording of their conversation. I knew that bug I placed in Garrett's office would pay off!!!

I especially love this one about Garrett:

http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2014/2/24/5443946/jerry-jones-cowboys-crying-jason-garrett

"I have seen people work just as strong or stronger without knowing where the future is," Jones said, via the San Antonio Express-News. "He has a high tolerance for ambiguity. That is very important in this situation."

And then Jerry says

"He will have a lot more time spent on defense than he will on offense," Jones said. "We want his input on defense."

So basically, no process, but ambiguity...

Spinning what? You're taking the media interpretations of a man who rambles on trying to sound clever. I am taking the actual coaches words. Does it somehow not register with you that the Offense is still Garrett's Offense that has been here since 2007? It shocks you that Garrett wasn't 100% sold on Callahan's play calling in 2013 and took some of it back over? Not all of it. But he clearly took back some of the play calling after the Green Bay debacle.

Bottom line, I believe Linehan over you and Clarance Hill and Rainer Sabin and Tim McMahon, et al, and I believe the Cowboys players who do not seem to support your idea that Garrett isn't a huge part of the coaching of this team. Who was it who said, "Garrett's fingerprints are all over this team?"

Oh yeah, everyone.

Cowboys still got the big ole shaft in every aspect this season.

How do you figure? The Cowboys had a great season going 12-4 winning the NFC East and a PI call that was announced to the crowd was picked up which helped them win a playoff game. As for the MVP voting practically everyone outside Cowboys Nation was picking Rodgers with some picking Watt. There was no shaft job with the voting the player everyone thought was going to win won. As for the coach of the year entering the 2014 season Garrett was viewed as a joke and a coach on the hot seat. He's been stripped of some of his duties over the past 4 years and most view him as a stand around puppet. It's going to take more than one good season for him to gain respect.

He's going to have to pay his dues he's only been in coaching since 2005. Bruce Arians started his coaching career in 1975 at Virginia Tech. It took him 14 years to get his first coaching job in the NFL and 38 years to land his first NFL head coaching job. He led the Cardinals to a 10-6 record his first year as HC. He had the Cardinals flying high in 2014 until he lost his starting QB. Arians paid his dues and deserved to be named coach of the year. Garrett is not going to be awarded any prestigious honors by the NFL until his teams start putting together some good seasons and he starts gaining respect around the league.

So now Jerry isn't to be believed and these are just ramblings and incoherent speak...

I gave you Jerry's direct words that Jason wouldn't let his hands off the offense and he won't be involved anymore. And his role will be ambiguous and Jason has a high tolerance for it. And you call that ambiguous?

Yeah, Garrett ran the Coryell offense, which brings me back to what exactly Jerry also said, which is Linehan does not cause a change in terminology on offense. BUT they can change totally within the offense as compared to Garrett, becaue he utilized the best players, bringing up Dez being like Megatron and running the ball, despite coaches claiming they will do it, but end up not doing it. And in the same context he said it was an issue to Callahan and was not fair, because he ran a different offensive system.

No, you gave me a quote that says Garrett said they would run the ball, after he was hired that doesn't prove in any way, that is why Linehan was hired.

Like Garrett being demoted per Jerry's own words and Jerry own words saying Garrett can deal with ambiguity and Jerry's own words that Garrett kept interfering with Callahan and Jerry's own words that they don't want him involved in offense. That's ambiguous like Garrett never running when he actually had total control of this offense?

Your confirmation bias is critical. No one on the Dallas Cowboys coaching staff or roster would agree with you.

You do know that...don't you?

I especially love this quote from Jerry Jones in Februrary:

http://www.dallascowboys.com/news/2014/02/24/jones-linehan-imaginative-using-his-offense’s-talent

“There’s no question he’ll take, he’s done it, he did it in Minnesota, there’s no question that he’ll take his top players, and it can be in the running game as well, in the running game, he will utilize them in the running game,” Jones said. “To some degree all coaches will say that, but getting them to do it or getting it done is another thing. But he’s a proven imaginative coach, relative to using his talent, their particular skills.”

By the way, he says this in the context of the difference between Scott Linehan and Jason Garrett. So here we have Jerry Jones well before last season started and before any Garrett quote that Jerry Jones wanted to establish the run, after a season when Dallas kept abandoning the run, and Garrett was interfering with play-calling and it was Callahan who actually re-vamped the running game with his schemes.

Why would someone get coach of the year when the main reason for the team's success is due to there being more influence from the coordinators and less from the HC? No coincidence that we had more success when we went with a more balanced offense with Linehan calling plays instead of Jason or Callahan.

Improvement by 1 game is awesome then huh? Arians not only was not my pick for Coach of the Year, he wouldn't have been in my top 3.

I find it humorous that the injury thing is no longer an "excuse" but a reason why he deserves it.

How about this one in FEBRUARY OF LAST YEAR:

http://sportsblogs.star-telegram.co...ill-get-megatron-treatment-under-linehan.html

"Linehan gives us a complete real change of our offense with our terminology," Jones said. "It's different. Although [Garrett and Linehan] have been together coaching, you can't see a lot of what we've been and what they did up in Detroit. He's got a track record of really zeroing in and building the offense around the talent, the specific talent and the qualities of the players."

Jerry says that Linehan allows them to completely change the offense with the terminology Garrett's offense employed. He then says that though they were together coaching, it's totally different in what they do in Dallas as compared to Detroit. He says Linehan as opposed to Garrett tailors his offense around talent. And then he says, in this context of being different than Garrett:

“There is no question, he’ll take it and he’s done it,” Jones said. “Look hard at how he maximized his skills, how he maximized Johnson’s skills. Johnson didn’t get there doing what he did against us. For whatever reason, they designed stuff to take advantage of Johnson getting there. We’re not going to give any coach credit for Johnson. Well, that’s not really the way it should be. With what he did at Minnesota, with what he’s done and where he’s been, he really does make adjustments to the personnel that are really dictated by the scheme and the philosophy. There’s no question that he’ll take his top players, and it can be in the running game as well, in the running game, he will utilize them in the running game. To some degree all coaches will say that, but getting them to do it or getting it done is another thing. But he’s a proven imaginative coach, relative to using his talent, their particular skills."

Everything revolving around using the talent of the players, as opposed to Garrett's inability to do that, including running. And I'm sure Jerry learned this from Callahan, which is why he was willing to make him the play-caller after only one year stripping the duties from Garrett.

Well factor in that Bruce Arians was missing like 5 or 6 Pro Bowl caliber players, a quarterback and also that no one gives Garrett credit and thinks this team is built with Linehan and Maranelli? Its not shocking.

To be truthful, Bruce as much as I hate to admit it did get a lot out of his guys. They had no business in the playoffs.
